It featured both high school and post grad teams from all over the east coast including Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Here, we take a look at the standouts from the Maryland and Georgia schools in attendance.
Ricky Hill | 5’9” PG | Mt. Zion Prep ’23
Hill had a great session for Mt. Zion, showing the depth they have in the backcourt with star Malachi Palmer Malachi Palmer 6'6" | SF Mt. Zion Prep | 2024 #53 Nation MD going down with an injury in their loss to Massanutten. The 5’9” point guard was a rock for them as he handled pressure well, got in the paint to make plays and he made shots consistently from multiple levels. Him stepping up will be big for them down the stretch as he gives them another playmaker and shot maker in the backcourt.
Levi Lawal | 6’7” PF | Mt. Zion Prep ’23
Lawal had a big showing in their loss to Combine with them short handed, and if there are coaches looking for a productive big man with upside they should take a look at him. The 6’7” big man is a strong body with soft touch in the paint, he can run the floor and finish through contact and above the rim and he’s a good rebounder in and out of his area. He finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in their second game.
Dom Stewart | 6’5” WG | Mt. Zion Prep ’24
Stewart is emerging as one of the top scoring guards in Maryland after transferring to MZP from Mississippi, and he’s consistently put up big numbers including in this event. The 6’5” two guard is a natural shot maker who can knock it down from deep consistently, he gets to spots in the midrange and can hit contested shots and he’s an athletic finisher with good body control around the rim. He finished with 25 points in their loss to Massanutten.
Desmond White | 6’3” WG | The Skills Factory ’23
The George Mason commit was fantastic for TSF throughout the weekend, as he’s a natural leader who can score it in different ways and brings it on both ends of the floor. At 6’3” he gets good lift on his shot and moves well defensively, he can knock down shots consistently from deep and he can handle it in transition and make plays for others. He made winning plays all weekend and was big for them in their wins over Miler and Burlington School.
Isaac Jones Isaac Jones 6'5" | SG Western Reserve Academy | 2024 OH | 6’5” WG | The Skills Factory ’23
Jones is one of TSF’s best available players, and any coach looking for a shooter with size should take a look at him right away. The 6’5” wing has the prototypical frame to play on the perimeter at the next level, he shot the cover off the ball from deep in both of their games and he flew around defensively making plays. He was one of their top scorers doing most of his damage from deep but also showed he can finish above the rim too.
Lathan Sommerville Lathan Sommerville 6'9" | C Richwoods | 2024 State #85 Nation IL | 6’9” PF | The Skills Factory ’24
Sommerville is one of the top prospects in the 2024 class in Georgia and his impressive offer sheet reflects that. The 6’9” big man is a walking mismatch as he’s a load in the paint that can use his body to clear out space and finish, he can step out on the perimeter where he can stretch the floor and put it on the deck and his presence alone in the paint defensively makes it tough for driving guards and wings. He was productive and efficient throughout the weekend and will be watched very closely this summer I’m sure.
