The 2022-23 high school basketball season continues after the new year from some great matchups. This week, our top 10 games feature several elite matchups, with a lot of talent being showcased. This week has four top-10 matchups and a top-4 3A battle in Northern Indiana in the top-10, so let's take a look at my top ten upcoming games across the state listed in order that they will be played.

3A #2 NorthWood @ 3A #4 West Noble - Tuesday at 7:30

NorthWood comes in at 15-2 and ranked #2 in 3A. The Panthers two losses have come to defending 3A state champ Beech Grove and 4A #1 Ben Davis. The Panthers are led by their senior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1226596' first='Cade' last='Brenner'] (Huntington) and [player_tooltip player_id='1391324' first='Ian' last='Raasch'] (Grace). [player_tooltip player_id='1297122' first='Tyler' last='Raasch'], a 2025 forward, has also played very well this season. West Noble comes in at 16-1 on the season and ranked #4 in 3A. The Chargers lone loss came back at the end of December to 2A #5 Fort Wayne Blackhawk. Bethel commit [player_tooltip player_id='1158635' first='Austin' last='Cripe'] leads the way for the Chargers this season.

RESULT: NorthWood 55, West Noble 47

Park Tudor @ Indianapolis Chatard - Tuesday at 7:30

Park Tudor comes in at 11-6 on the season. The Panthers had won five straight games prior to their 57-50 loss to Brebeuf Jesuit last weekend. Park Tudor is led by Purdue-Fort Wayne commit [player_tooltip player_id='868228' first='Jermaine' last='Coleman'] and fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='935733' first='Bryce' last='Petty']. The Panthers also have a talented sophomore class with [player_tooltip player_id='1297034' first='Hudson' last='Horvath'], [player_tooltip player_id='1297074' first='Kelin' last='Mark'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1578356' first='Cal' last='Bostic']. Indianapolis Chatard makes the list yet again. The Trojans come in at 11-6 with losses in four of their last six. Prior to this stretch, the Trojans had won 9 of 10. Chatard is led by senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1402477' first='Robert' last='Davidson'] at 15.7 points and 6.8 rebounds this season as he has risen up our 2023 rankings. Freshman point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560973' first='Ethan' last='Roseman'] has had a great freshman season with 14.9 points and 3.6 assists. He has a ton of potential and is one of the best players in the 2026 class at this point.

RESULT: Park Tudor 61, Indianapolis Chatard 56

Zionsville @ 4A #5 Center Grove - Tuesday at 7:30

Zionsville comes in at 11-6 on the season with wins in four of their last five. Their lone loss in this stretch came to 4A #7 Brownsburg. The Eagles are led by their pair of DI commits with [player_tooltip player_id='868255' first='Logan' last='Imes'] (Penn State) and [player_tooltip player_id='868244' first='Nick' last='Richart'] (Charlotte) at 26.4 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists combined. They also have a pair of talented sophomores with [player_tooltip player_id='1525679' first='Drew' last='Snively'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1525678' first='Maguire' last='Mitchell'] who add 9 points and 3 rebounds respectively. Center Grove comes in as the #5 team in 4A at 17-1 this season. The Trojans lone loss came on a tip-in at the buzzer at Kokomo. Center Grove has a ton of depth with 2023 guards [player_tooltip player_id='1272949' first='Marcus' last='Ankney'] (Indiana Wesleyan) and [player_tooltip player_id='1273050' first='Ethan' last='McComb'] (Butler Walk-On) as well as 2024s [player_tooltip player_id='1158238' first='Joey' last='Schmitz'], [player_tooltip player_id='1547488' first='Will' last='Spellman'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1547490' first='Jalen' last='Bundy']. The Trojans might be one of the deepest teams in the state, and they have shown that this season.

RESULT: Zionsville 54, Center Grove 44

1A #7 Greenwood Christian @ 1A #3 Bethesda Christian - Thursday at 7:30

Greenwood Christian comes in at 11-6 but they have won five straight games since a rough start in 2023. The Cougars fell to Bethesda Christian back in December by a score of 48-36. Greenwood Christian is led by their senior duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1273138' first='Blake' last='Shewmaker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1049195' first='Cannon' last='Mills'] as well as their junior star [player_tooltip player_id='1386511' first='Max' last='Booher'] and sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='1529293' first='Evan' last='McIntire']. Bethesda Christian comes in at 13-2 and #3 in 1A. The Patriots two losses this season have come to Westfield and Park Tudor. The Patriots are led by their junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1761698' first='Sam' last='Mlagan'] at 16.6 points and 4.6 rebounds this season.

4A #10 Lawrence North @ 4A #1 Ben Davis - Friday at 7:30

This top-10 4A battle gives us a Sectional 10 preview between two of the top teams in the state. Lawrence North comes in at 14-4 on the season with their only losses in the last month coming to 4A #6 Carmel and 4A #1 Ben Davis. The Giants took down the Wildcats 62-40 in the Marion County Finals back on January 14th. Lawrence North is led by a duo of young guard with [player_tooltip player_id='1158213' first='Kobi' last='Bowles'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1296979' first='Azavier' last='Robinson'] as well as some veteran leadership with seniors [player_tooltip player_id='935741' first='Ty' last='Cunningham'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1224253' first='Mase' last='Hughes']. Ben Davis comes in at 22-0 and the lone unbeaten team in the state. The Giants are led by a talented senior class with [player_tooltip player_id='1042497' first='Zane' last='Doughty'] (Valparaiso), [player_tooltip player_id='1273713' first='Sheridan' last='Sharp'] (Nicholls State), [player_tooltip player_id='1160716' first='Clay' last='Butler'] (Lincoln), and [player_tooltip player_id='1273740' first='Shaun' last='Arnold'] (St. Thomas - Aquinas). They also have added very good minutes from 2024 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1158204' first='K.J.' last='Windham'], 2024 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1295351' first='Mark' last='White'], and 2025 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1373105' first='Mark' last='Zackery']. This Giants team has a good chance to run the table for just the second time since 2009.

North Central @ Pike - Friday at 7:30

North Central comes in at 11-7 on the season, but the Panthers have won five straight after their 2-6 stretch in the middle of the season. North Central is led by the top uncommitted player in the 2023 class, [player_tooltip player_id='868259' first='Joey' last='Brown'], as well as a talented junior class with [player_tooltip player_id='1158227' first='Mason' last='Lewis'], [player_tooltip player_id='1547429' first='Jaxson' last='Bell'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1275784' first='Christian' last='Woodson']. Pike comes in at 11-6, but the Red Devils are trending in the opposite direction with losses in 3 of their last 5. Pike is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1049176' first='Devon' last='Woods'], one of the most-coveted Division III players in the state, at 18.9 points and 5.2 assists per game. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='1272429' first='Joseph' last='Annan'] and junior Cameron Casky have each added double figures this season as well.

3A #8 South Bend Washington @ 4A #2 Penn- Friday at 7:30

South Bend Washington comes in at 14-3 on the season with wins in 7 of their last 8 games. Their lone loss in this stretch came to 3A #1 Mishawaka Marian. Washington is led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='868232' first='Marcus' last='Northern'] at 16.4 points per game. [player_tooltip player_id='1561449' first='Steven' last='Reynolds III'], the top freshman in the state, has dominated as well with 14.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Penn comes in at 17-1 on the season with their lone loss coming to 4A #1 Ben Davis in the Hall of Fame Classic. Mr. Basketball frontrunner [player_tooltip player_id='1049169' first='Markus' last='Burton'] has had a breakout year with 30.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 4.0 steals this season. He is currently ranked as the #2 player in the 2023 class and will be staying home to play for Notre Dame. Watch out for this kid as he tries to cement his legacy down the stretch of his senior season.

South Knox @ Barr-Reeve - Friday at 7:30

South Knox comes in at 11-7 on the season, but six of their seven losses have come to 4A schools or schools ranked in the top-10 in their class. The Spartans are coming off a narrow 8-point loss to Evansville Reitz after taking down Evansville North. South Knox is led by 2025 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1297111' first='Sam' last='Singleton']. Barr-Reeve comes in at 10-8 on the season, as they have struggled to put up a consistent effort. Only three times this season have the Vikings had the same result in back-to-back games, and they have not lost two games in a row all season. The Vikings are led by their junior duo of Braydon Knepp and Donnie Miller who are averaging 24 points combined this season.

Pike @ Mt. Vernon (Fortville) - Saturday at 7:30

Pike comes in at 11-6, but the Red Devils are trending in the opposite direction with losses in 3 of their last 5. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='1272429' first='Joseph' last='Annan'] and junior Cameron Casky have each added double figures this season as well. Mount Vernon (Fortville) comes in at 11-7 on the season with wins in four of their last six games. The Marauders have lost their last five games all by single digits. They are led by a pair of freshmen with [player_tooltip player_id='1561435' first='Julien' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1728587' first='Luke' last='Ertel'] at 27 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists combined. Both Smith and Ertel are ranked in the top-6 in the state for the 2026 class, and they have the Marauders in position for a bright future.

Madison-Grant @ Southwood - Saturday at 7:30

Madison-Grant comes in at 12-4 on the season with wins in 7 of their last 8. Their lone loss in this stretch came in a 31-point beatdown to Oak Hill. The Argylls are led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1149965' first='Jase' last='Howell'] at 15.1 points and 6.6 assists per game. Peyton Southerland and Gavin Kelich each average double figures for the team as well. Southwood sits at just 7-9 on the season, but they are 7-4 since their 0-4 start to the season. They have also won three straight games against North Miami, Rochester, and Northwestern. The Knights are led by their senior duo of Nathan Lehner and Cole Winer at 15 and 13 points per game. 2024 guard Will Winer also adds double figures for the Knights.
