Throughout the week, we'll take more of a look at the 2025 class with breakdowns on various prospects throughout the rankings. In this post, we're taking a look at five point guards that are either already established floor generals or they are on the path to quickly becoming just that within Oklahoma's 2025 class. Last year, Furnish was a breakout player as just a freshman and he went from somewhat of an unknown player to one of the best point guards in the state. It was a slow climb for Furnish last year but he came into this season with a load of confidence and it has shown on the court. Furnish has always been known as one of the better shooters from beyond the arc in the state and that has still been the case every time we've seen him in person. He can absolutely fill it up with one of the quicker shots in the state's 2025 class. But this season, Furnish is taking his game to the next level as an overall playmaker and he has plenty of help around him, which certainly makes his job easier. On paper, this is a very young an inexperienced team. On the court, they have athleticism and skill everywhere and the Antlers are going to be a team to watch moving forward. One of the leading playmakers on this Deer Creek squad is sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1579597' first='Clyde' last='Davis'] and he has impressed us every time we've seen the Antlers in person. In fact, in one game in particular at the McGuinness Classic, Davis flipped a switch in the second half and led the Antlers in scoring in a low-scoring win over Edmond Memorial. Davis is a very athletic guard that shows off that athleticism when he's driving to the basket. He's strong with the ball and also very decisive when he gets in the paint. We're looking forward to seeing more of him as he continues to improve his shot from around the floor.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["1475986"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"When it comes to the state's 2025 class and the point guard position in particular, Purcell point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1475986' first='Kobe' last='Freeman'] might be near the top of the list of guards we've seen in person and written about. Freeman was an absolute star last spring and summer and was consistently one of the top performers in just about every tournament we watched. That performance and level of basketball has continued throughout the school season. Freeman and company have the Dragons as a serious contender in Class 3A, not only to make it to the Big House, but to contend for a gold ball. Freeman can absolutely fill it up but the thing that has made Freeman special this season has been his playmaking ability. He can score from just about anywhere on the floor but he also has some pretty solid firepower around him and has gotten them involved. In several tournaments this season he's performed at a high level and we're looking forward to seeing what he does under the bright lights of March.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["1796296"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Garber sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1796296' first='Mark' last='Bishop'] is one of the more athletic point guards in the state's 2025 class. We first found out about Bishop as a football prospect because he is pretty dynamic on the football field. But then we checked out some clips of Bishop on the basketball court and that, combined with seeing some of his production, he was a no-brainer to add to this recent ranking update. Bishop can jump out of the gym and despite being around 6'0, he makes a living in the paint. And we're not talking about a guard that just slashes to the basket and either finishes or dishes it out. We're talking about a guard that is one of the top rebounders on his team and he makes it a point to fight for every loose ball. We're very interested in seeing Garber and Bishop moving forward because they have a relatively young team. Similar to Davis at Deer Creek, Bishop is one of the better young and athletic point guards in the state.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["1364821"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"We saw Bixby 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1364821' first='Triston' last='Driver'] quite a bit during the spring and summer last year. And every time we saw him, he impressed as an overall scorer and playmaker. And we thought that coming into his sophomore season, he was ready to not only be a strong part of Bixby's team, but a consistent playmaker beside 2023 star guard [player_tooltip player_id='967379' first='Parker' last='Friedrichsen']. And that's exactly what has happened as Bixby is knocking on the door of potentially being a state tournament team in March. They're going to host a regional and while the Spartans are still led by their superstar senior, Driver has shown that he can step up when opponents have a lot of their attention on slowing down Friedrichsen. Driver continues to get better and better on the offensive end of the floor and we're happy that the growth that he showed throughout the spring and summer of 2022 has translated well to the high school floor this winter.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-63efc1065f13e"} /--> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
