Continue ReadingOne of Minnesota’s rising 2023 Seniors is JJ Ware JJ Ware 6’6″ | SF Park Center | 2023 State MN . The six-foot-six-inch wing from Park Center is having a breakout season still surrounded by talent. Ware is averaging 17.9 points-per-game and has 6 20-point performances through 17 games. Ware’s calling card has been defense as he uses length and quickness to defend multiple positions. The long, springy wing’s improvement from beyond the 3-point has been his strongest improvement.
Our top ranked unsigned 2023 Senior is six-foot-four-inch wing CJ O’Hara CJ O’Hara 6’4″ | SF Park Center | 2023 State #285 Nation MN . O’Hara, who played with Hopkins last year, is back at Park Center for his final high school season. O’Hara is leading the 19-0 Pirates in scoring at 18.8 point-per-game, and recently versus Blaine scored a season high 39. As impressive as a scorer O’Hara is, inside and outside, his defense may be his headlining talent. Long, athletic athlete, O’Hara deflections passes with his quickness, and pounces on loose balls. The length enables him to defend bigger players, quickness enables him to guard on the perimeter.
Nate Dahl of Buffalo is fueling the Bison’s attack scoring almost 25 points-per-game. The six-foot guard is an exceptional outside shooter. His rise this season however is his ability to get to spots and make shots. Last 3 games, 38, 34, 36, all wins. The Bison are 18-3 behind Dahl. Dahl has intangibles that every team wants and needs, and in the number of games I’ve watched him, he’s never backed down from a challenge.
Hayden Tibbits is a five-foot-eleven-inch guard from Wayzata. The 2023 Senior has really stepped it up this season without fellow back-court mate Myles Barnette Myles Barnette 6’2″ | PG Wayzata | 2023 State MN (injured). Tibbits is almost at 20 points per game, has 10 games over 20 and 2 games over 30. He’s crafty enough to get buckets in the lane, is a superb outside shooter, and is effective off the dribble.
Highlights
Jalen Cain is a six-foot-three-inch guard from Minnetonka. First thing that will jump out to you for Cain’s game is his athletic ability. If he gets out in front in transition, look out, he’s looking at finishing high and dynamic fashion. Cain’s skills are very now basketball, at the rim or behind the arc. He’s shooting 39% from behind the 3-point line for the Skippers.
Dylan Omweno is a six-foot-two-inch guard from Eastview that last year was their Jamal Crawford sixth-man. Immediate offense off the bench punch. Now, 2023 senior, Omweno off a strong summer with Minnesota, is leading the Lightning’s offense, responsible not just for his own scoring, 10.9 points per contest, but getting the ball into the hands of the talent that surrounds him. In the month of February he’s turned his scoring up a notch however scoring 18 points per game, and doing it off the dribble in shot creation and from behind the arc.
Highlights
Mario Adams is a six-foot-six-inch wing from Eastview that is averaging 10.4 points-per-game. At Eastview, they are deep, six players average more than 7 points a game. Adams has the ability to rise above defenders and slam it, and he can stretch the floor with his shooting. Adams makes his impression in areas not only scoring, he rebounds, defends, and passes.
Ibrahim El-Amin is a lightning quick, speedy five-foot-ten-inch guard from Minnetonka. The Skippers are loaded with guards, they have four exceptional ones who on lesser teams would demand considerable shots to carry their teams every game. Scoring 13.9 point a game, El-Amin has shown when needed he can give his team a burst (27 vs Hopkins, 29 vs Shakopee). Ibo is tough to guard off the bounce, and is an exceptional catch and shoot jump shooter.
Myles Adams is a six-foot-six-inch wing from Eastview very similar to his twin brother, Mario. Long, athletic, runs the floor well. Myles does an excellent job cutting to the basket away from the ball. Finishes in traffic, especially in transition. Can get himself to the basket from the perimeter of the bounce.
