SANTA ANA - The annual Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei high school is one of the premier venues to get a look at top teams and talent both locally and from out of state. Saturday's slate of 11 games featured teams from Southern California, Northern California, Nevada, Virginia and Arizona with multiple Division 1 commits and prospects taking the floor. In this piece we take a closer look at the Second Five performers from Saturday's games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115502' first='Caleb' last='Foster'], Sherman Oaks Notre Dame

Notre Dame's matchup against a good St. Augustine team was kind of a make or break game for the Knights' chances at an appearance in the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs and they passed with flying colors with plenty of help from Foster. The 6-foot-5 Duke-signee had himself a well-rounded game complete with 19 points, 10 rebounds and four assists to help Notre Dame secure the 12-point victory. Foster's combination of size, strength and speed was too much for Saints to handle in half-court and transition offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='996387' first='Denzel' last='Hines'], Colony

There were few performances more dominant than what Hines did for his Colony team in its win over Dos Pueblos. The 6-foot-6 senior scored 33 of his team's 58 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots in the Titans' 10-point win. Dos Pueblos really had no bodies to match the size, physicality and overall athleticism that Hines brought to the floor and it showed, especially in the points in the paint category where Colony outscored the Chargers 28-18 with most of that damage coming from Hines.

[player_tooltip player_id='1434421' first='Jaqari' last='Miles'], West Ranch

If there's one thing you can count on with Miles it's that he's going into each game with a confidence about his scoring ability that is unmatched. The 6-foot-3 senior dropped a game-high 23 points as the Wildcats defeated Bishop O'Connell of Virginia, 78-68. Miles is one of the more creative combo guards in the region with his ability to break defenders down off the dribble to get to his scoring spots, and, as we've come to know quite well, he's also one of the best tough shot makers in SoCal. Miles hit 7-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three-point range and dished out four assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='992480' first='Jared' last='McCain'], Corona Centennial

McCain didn't have his best scoring night for Centennial - as he finished with only seven points - but what lands him on our second five are the things he did to help the Huskies win despite not being at his best offensively. The Duke-bound guard finished with 10 rebounds and 10 assists while allowing teammates [player_tooltip player_id='1502773' first='Eric' last='Freeny'], [player_tooltip player_id='994973' first='Devin' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='994950' first='Aaron' last='McBride'] to carry the team offensively. McCain did a great job on the defensive end and with rebounding and controlling the pace of the game in leading Centennial to a 26-point win over Liberty.

[player_tooltip player_id='856637' first='Sebastian' last='Mack'], Coronado (NV)

The matchup between Coronado and Foothill was one of the more intriguing matchups of the day due to the Cougars having multiple highly-ranked players and Foothill being more of a traditional public school with good local players and great chemistry. In this one, however, the biggest star of the game rose to the top as UCLA-commit [player_tooltip player_id='856637' first='Sebastian' last='Mack'] scored 22 points to pace Coronado to a 10-point win. Mack is a dynamic slasher and finisher in transition where he used his speed, strength and athleticism to overwhelm the Knights en route to finishes at the rim.
