Games I Attended

Walton (70) vs South Cobb (65)

Walton came away with the win on Tuesday night despite a valiant effort from South Cobb's seniors. [player_tooltip player_id='1131830' first='Luke' last='Flynn'] led all scorers with 28 and he's playing like one of the best guards in the state right now. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1688187' first='Caesar' last='Burrows'] had a big, 14-point third quarter that shifted the momentum in Walton's favor and ultimately changed the game. Jermaine Freeman and Joshua Miles each had 19 points for South Cobb.

Westside Macon (76) vs Shiloh (73)

Westside Macon grinded out a big win over Shiloh in a 2OT thriller. Tyrell Cordy had the hot hand, scoring 28 points on 6 three-pointers. [player_tooltip player_id='1131536' first='Daveon' last='Henderson'] hit the game-winning layup, a tough finish with 5 seconds left in 2OT to win the game for Westside. Shiloh's backcourt duo, Nazir Griffin and [player_tooltip player_id='1444759' first='Emmanuel' last='Okogie'], did some nice things but Westside did a good job of containing [player_tooltip player_id='1383029' first='Tylis' last='Jordan'].

Greenforest (54) vs Gaston Christian (52)

Through the first month of the season, this may have been the best game I've seen so far. Caleb Kawela hit the game-winning layup to beat the buzzer and he looked really good throughout the game. He's a strong-bodied forward that showcased a nice shooting touch as well on Saturday. [player_tooltip player_id='820301' first='DK' last='Manyiel'] finished with 18 and hit some important shots in big moments. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1672429' first='Cameron' last='Newman'] was extremely impressive for Gaston Christian, scoring the ball in some creative ways.

Westlake (63) vs Riverwood (53)

Westlake ended up getting the win in a hard-fought afternoon game. Riverwood tried to push the pace early on and were able to get out in transition but Westlake's physical forwards proved to be too much. [player_tooltip player_id='1231784' first='Rodrecus' last='Rouse'] was tough inside for Westlake and finished with 23 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1145563' first='Karris' last='Bilal'] and JR Leonard provided good scoring for Riverwood as well.

Knoxville Catholic (71) vs Mt. Pisgah (46)

This one didn't turn out to be much of a game as [player_tooltip player_id='1383019' first='Micah' last='Tucker'], Pisgah's centerpiece, went down early with an injury. Knoxville Catholic was exciting nonetheless. They've got an interesting mix of sharpshooters and bucket-getters that make them a lethal offensive team. [player_tooltip player_id='1273551' first='Deondrea' last='Lindsey'] impressed me with his combination of size, skill & athleticism. He finished with 14 to lead Knoxville Catholic. Freshman Cade Murphy also showcased some great shotmaking ability and plays year beyond his age.
