UW-Whitewater got a good one in 2023 guard Collin Madson Collin Madson 6’4″ | PG Mukwonago | 2023 State WI . Against Oak Creek he was producing at a high level from the jump, and went on to finish with 32 points and 10 rebounds in the win. When the defense sagged off on him, Collin made them pay by confidently pulling up for three and knocking down his shots at a high percentage. At his size he also changes directions well and was able to maneuver his way into the paint to finish or dump it off at the last second to a teammate. Someone that can score within the flow of the offense, but can also get off his shots in isolation when needed.
Highlights
There was no stopping Kaleb from getting to the rim on Tuesday night. The senior guard out of The Prairie School has such an explosive first step that allows him to blow by his man off the dribble and explode to the hoop. Despite the speed that he can attack the basket at, Kaleb was remaining under control which allowed him to plan out his angles to get around defenders, while also knowing when to pull up and hit a floater when the gaps weren’t there. Defensively he was great at jumping lazy passes and turning those steals into quick points on the other end. Finished with 27 points before taking an early seat in the win over Kenosha Reuther.
MJ started out the game knocking down a pull-up three, and went on to finish with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 assists in a win over a tough Westosha Central team. MJ was facing constant double teams when he looked to post up, and was still able to power his way to the basket for finish after finish. It may not always look the smoothest but MJ was also finding ways to get to the basket off the dribble, and using his long stride to split defenders and extend to finish. Had the highlight of the day taking his man baseline and elevating to throw down a powerful dunk with a 6’8 defender contesting. With his size at 6’7 it’s very impressive how quickly he can get off the floor to make those type of plays.
LaTrevion Fenderson
LaTrevion Fenderson
Even as a sophomore LaTrevion is a physically imposing presence on the floor. The strong 6’4 wing had some tough buckets catching on the block and going to work against smaller forwards, but also showcased his perimeter skillset. Knocked down a pair of deep threes, beat his man off the dribble to get to the rim, and handled the ball going coast-to-coast in transition. At his size he’s extremely light on his feet and changes directions quickly making it tough for anyone with some size to defend him. Finished off his game stripping the ball from an opposing player, and then dribbling the length of the floor for a two handed dunk. Fenderson scored 25 points in the win over Kenosha Reuther.
Brad Lyon
Brad Lyon
Lyon has gotten off to a nice start to his senior season, and showcased a composed game in the big win over Kenosha Bradford. He excelled at lulling his defender to sleep and then out of nowhere would hit his man with a quick crossover and attack in the opposite direction. Was great at playing off two feet around the basket allowing him to go up balanced but also stop and pivot if the defense cut him off. Lyon has the strength to finish through contact and also played extremely hard on the defense. If there was a loose ball in his area, Brad was going to be the first one on the floor fighting for it.
With Shannon and Fenderson handling the scoring, Eeg was the one setting them up for easy buckets. He had a lot of success handling the ball in the open floor and making great decisions on when to pass it off. That allowed him to draw up the last defender and then accurately find a teammate streaking alongside him for an open lay-up. Eeg has great vision and the ability to look off defenders before delivering a pass. When scoring he has a nice floater, can get all the way to the rim to finish off two feet, and can step out and knock down a jumper.

Ashton Turner
Ashton Turner
The highest scoring total of the day went to Ashton Turner who put up 32 points in the win over Bradford. He just has a nose for the basket as he was putting himself into position for dump off passes, sprinting the floor in transition, and beating his man from the wing for high percentage looks at the rim. Really liked his effort on the glass as well, as he was exploding off the floor to get two hands on the ball before powering right back up to finish. Consistent production all game long for the senior wing.
