This Tuesday night is a little quieter around the Indianapolis area, but there are still several good matchups around the state worth highlighting. I'll be covering the Valparaiso vs. Gary 21st Century game in a battle between of the best programs in northern Indiana. Let's dive on in to a preview of that contest, along with the other best games to follow this evening.

Evansville Bosse @ Evansville Memorial

After a season opening loss to Jasper, the Bosse Bulldogs have reeled off four straight wins. Memorial actually defeated Jasper, but lost to Corydon Central to enter this evening's contest at 2-1. Bosse junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1158192' first='Taray' last='Howell'] is coming off of a 27-point performance and is one of the top scorers, and all-around players, in the Evansville area. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1539999' first='Luke' last='Ellspermann'] scored 35 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Tigers loss to Corydon and is looking like one of the best players in the area as well. Junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1578479' first='Tucker' last='Tornatta'] is a double-double machine who will be a tough matchup around the basket. There is probably more depth of talent on the Memorial sideline, but Howell can be the equalizer for the Bulldogs. This is the game to watch down in the Pocket City tonight.

Gary 21st Century @ Valparaiso

This is the game of the night around the state. Class 2A #2 ranked Gary 21st Century takes on Valparaiso who began the season ranked in the Class 4A Top 10 before falling to Northridge. However, that loss continues to look better as Northridge now sits at 5-0. The Vikings have rattled off two straight easy victory and are ready to be tested once again. They are led by 6'7" Ball State signee [player_tooltip player_id='935722' first='Mason' last='Jones'] who is averaging 25 points and 9.7 rebounds per game to start the year. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1297042' first='Jack' last='Smiley'] is adding 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game as well. As for 21st Century, they are 4-1 led by their trio of senior stars. Dynamic point guard [player_tooltip player_id='868220' first='Ashton' last='Williamson'] is a triple-double threat every time he steps on the floor. Also, athletic wings [player_tooltip player_id='1042493' first='D.J.' last='Moss'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1160677' first='Quintin' last='Floyd'] stuff the stat sheet on a consistent basis as well. This will be a fun one up in "The Region."

Greensburg @ Jennings County

For the southeastern Indiana crowd, you'll want to make your way to North Vernon tonight for this battle between the Pirates and Panthers. Greensburg opened the season with a win over rival Batesville but then fell to Triton Central. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1160678' first='Ki' last='Dyer'] is averaging 15.5 points per game thus far while senior [player_tooltip player_id='1495782' first='Jeter' last='Edwards'] and talented sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1578402' first='Jack' last='Mckinsey'] add 11.5 and 11 per game respectively. Versatile 6'4" wing [player_tooltip player_id='1158211' first='Addison' last='Barnes-Pettit'] is another guy to keep an eye on. For Jennings County, senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1272966' first='Keegan' last='Manowitz'] is averaging 14.6 points and 8 assists per game to lead the Panthers to their 5-0 start to the season. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1578362' first='Carter' last='Kent'] is putting up good numbers as well shooting 11-32 from beyond the arc while averaging 13.2 points per game.

Lawrence Central @ Crispus Attucks

If you are out looking for a game in Indianapolis this evening this is probably your best bet. Lawrence Central took Zionsville to overtime before losing 43-39 and was competitive in a rivalry matchup at Lawrence North as well. They are led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1273741' first='DaJohn' last='Craig'] and senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='868233' first='Joshua' last='Mickens']. Attucks is just 1-3 on the year but has played a tough schedule to this point. They have a talented young core of players led by junior guard Ron Rutland and 6'8" sophomore big man [player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe'].

Michigan City @ Mishawaka

Heading back up to northern Indiana, this matchup features a pair of 3-1 teams who will eventually battle it out in Sectional 3. Michigan City features dynamic point guard Jamie Hodges Jr. who is one of the better playmakers remaining on the board in the senior class. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1457552' first='Allen' last='Briggs'] is another name to remember for the Wolves. As for Mishawaka, 6'3" junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1276469' first='Rasauun' last='Johnson'] is the player to watch. Johnson is averaging around 14 points per game for the Cavemen and is a very good perimeter defender as well. 5'9" senior point guard Arthur Jones is coming off of a 25-point performance in Mishawka's win over South Bend Riley.
