Week 3 of the season was a record-breaker. We saw at least five records broken and a quadruple-double go down last week and now I have to choose just one performance that stood out above the rest. Obviously, these are all worthy performances, so let's go through some of the more notable ones before I reveal this week's "Big Hoss" top performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='1587980' first='Ismail' last='Guyo'] | Nathan Hale - 33 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists @ Bellevue Christian 12/12

The lone freshman to crack the list this week, Guyo plays with a relaxed feel out there and shows some extremely promising skills for the future. He scored 33 points but he also exhibited great patience offensively and made each bucket work within the offense. He has deep range from three and his length helps him outlast defenders going to the rim. This is the first of many big outputs for Guyo.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416280' first='Tennessee' last='Rainwater'] | Davenport - 35 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists vs Reardon 12/13

The 6'6 guard is already one of the more explosive players in the state, winding and weaving his way to the hoop, or bursting to the rim with a powerful and long first step. He overmatches a lot of competition at the 2B level with that skillset alone, but against Rearden he was afforded too much space behind the arc and buried shot after shot. The improvement from three-point is a huge bonus for his game, and he showed he has the strength to hit from way back, forcing future opponents to follow him wherever he goes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1270731' first='Theo' last='McMillan'] | Camas - 15 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds vs RA Long 12/13

With [player_tooltip player_id='1450989' first='Beckett' last='Currie'] playing out of his mind, you'll forgive me if I haven't mentioned this guy yet. But McMillan was an all-league player last season and has come into the new hoop season with more aggression and comfortability that has seen him put up big assists totals every almost every night. The playmaking is consistent, but when he gets his jumper going he has the ability to have nights like this, where he is seemingly involved in every play and can kill defenses with the shot or the pass. He has great court awareness and seems to be finding that rhythm with his shot that could open up a lot more space for his teammates to crash to the hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450604' first='Elijah' last='Williams'] | North Central - 21 points, 11 assists, 11 steals, 10 rebounds @ Medical Lake 12/15

This type of performance highlights exactly the playing style and skillset Williams brings to the point guard position. He's a highly athletic, attacking guard that takes chances, pushes the pace, and draws a lot of attention from the defense. Not only is he a superb finisher at the rim, he sinks his freebies and brings that same energy to the defensive side of the ball, playing opportunistic basketball and showing great instincts. It was extremely difficult not to dub this performance the POTW, but it nonetheless deserves a lot of recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560529' first='Cooper' last='Aitken'] | Spanaway Lake - 23 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals vs Silas 12/15

Aitken has really blossomed this season, leading his team in rebounding and scoring, and taking that athleticism and determination at the rim to the defensive end too. It all showed in his game against Silas, and although they barely missed out on the W, Aitken was all over the place using that big body and soft touch to own the paint all game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2156619' first='Mason' last='Chmielewski'] | North Kitsap - 9 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists @ Kingston 12/15

Pulling down 20 rebounds requires even the best rebounders to exert a ton of energy and focus, but Chmielewski managed to do it while being a 5'11 guard. Oh, and he dished out 10 dimes on the side. The 20 rebounds is a school record for the North Kitsap Vikings, but the story behind the record will surely be more impressive as long as it lasts. His activity was off the charts, pulling in three boards on one possession early in the first quarter. He seemed to have the jump on everyone and it translated to his passing too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1270609' first='Brooklyn' last='Hicks'] | Timberline - 42 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals vs Kamiak 12/16

The Timberline scoring machine continues to ball out and put up his second 40-point performance of the season. He's getting to the rim, cutting up defenses night in and night out, but he also continues to display his ability as an elite defender with his fourth game with four-plus steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450488' first='Cade' last='Orness'] | North Kitsap - 17 points, 17 assists vs Central Kitsap 12/17

Orness was a candidate last week and continues to put up big assist numbers, this time breaking the North Kitsap single-game record. There is not much more that can be said about the kid and his ability to destroy defenses. His combination of athleticism and playmaking is truly something special and all I can say at this point is if you haven't seen the kid play yet, you are missing out on a gem.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450989' first='Beckett' last='Currie'] | Camas - 44 points, 12 threes vs Silas 12/17

First off, Currie broke two tournament records in his opening game of the Hardwood Invite, sinking 12 of 18 three-point attempts and dropping a total of 44 points on 23 shots. He was on fire and hitting from all angles. Whether it was lightning quick catch and shoots off of screens, sizing up opponents before rising up over them, or hitting tough step-backs and fallaway shots, Currie showed he can flat-out shoot. It was an awesome performance punctuated by the win. He showed elite focus and had a "no new friends" attitude out there.

"Big Hoss" Performance of the Week

[player_tooltip player_id='1270613' first='Cavin' last='Holden'] | RA Long - 54 points @ Ridgefield 12/16

Another school record was toppled last week, this one the R A Long single-game scoring record. [player_tooltip player_id='1270613' first='Cavin' last='Holden'] is simply put a gamer and when he gets in his zone can be unstoppable like he was against Ridgefield. He was scoring at the rim, hitting from mid-range, and stroking from way behind the arc on multiple occasions. After pouring in 46 points the night before, Holden had officially scored 100 points in two nights. Just watch, and you'll see why Holden took home this week's "Big Hoss" Performance of the Week.
