After an impressive freshman year, Devin is once again putting up some eye opening scoring numbers for an underclassman. Against East Troy he went for 29 playing an efficient offensive game. Devin has great shot selection, and although he’s a good outside shooter he doesn’t just settle for threes. He does a great job of utilizing hard cuts off the ball as well as patient dribble-drives to work his way into the paint for high percentage shots. Devin is good at curling off screens and then immediately getting downhill to the rim, or if the space is there he can pull-up and knock down the mid-range jumper.

Owen Martinson
Owen Martinson
In a low scoring matchup against Oak Creek last night, it was Owen providing the extra spark of offense to push Waterford to the win. The standout football player was moving well off the ball to find space from beyond the arc, knocking down a trio of 3’s for 9 of his 17 points. Owen also does a nice job of using his strength to power his way to the rim, and finish on balance off of two feet. Uses his broad shoulders well to shield off shot blockers and finish through the contact.
Whitnall picked off a resume boosting non-conference win over Waukesha South, with Ethan helping lead the way behind 17 points. The 6’9 senior is one of the top unsigned 2023 bigs in Wisconsin, with a long and athletic frame. He did the bulk of his damage with quick cuts from the dunker spot, or running the floor hard to pick up transition buckets. When he caught in the paint he did a good job of not bringing the ball down, utilizing his height advantage against a smaller South team. I liked how Ethan wouldn’t force up unbalanced shots, and instead stayed patient, steadied himself, and then exploded off two feet to score. Does a nice job of tipping up missed shots to himself or out to his teammates on the offensive end, and when he pulls in a defensive board he immediately chins the ball and looks for the opportunity to hit one of his teammates leaking out up the floor.
Also having an impressive night for Whitnall was sophomore Jack Lutz Jack Lutz 6’0″ | SG Whitnall | 2025 State WI . Jack was dangerous getting to his spots in the mid-range, as he gets good elevation on his jumper and can stop on a dime to create a bit of separation from his man. Also found success as a playmaker getting into the lane and forcing the help-side defender to step up on him, opening up space for his bigs. Has some wiggle to him off the dribble that helps him beat his initial defender, with the touch to extend and finish at the rim. Finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win.

It wasn’t a huge scoring night for Brogan, but I was impressed with his playmaking ability. At 6’4 he runs a lot of point for Waterford, as he’s an unselfish player who sees the floor well, and has the handle to beat his man off the dribble and get into dangerous spots on the floor to free up his teammates. Had some nice drive and kick passes leading to wide open threes, as well as a dime to his teammate cutting on the block. He has the ability to make different types of passes, as well as use either hand to accurately deliver his teammates the ball. Also knocked down a three and threw down a left handed dunk in transition.

Izaac Neal
Izaac Neal
Izaac continues to impress during his senior season at Oak Creek. The long and agile big man made the most of his chances inside to finish with a team high 13 points against Waterford. He’s an efficient finisher who can convert with either hand around the basket, and is an option both in the half-court and in transition. Uses his long stride to run the floor like a gazelle, and on one instance was able to beat everyone up the floor for a highlight real two-handed dunk. He’s also a standout volleyball player, and it shows with his ability to elevate and contest/block shots straight up at a high level.
Tommy Fritsch
Tommy Fritsch
Combining with Devin Isaj Devin Isaj 6’6″ | SF Greendale | 2025 State WI to be one of the top scoring duos in the state this year has been Tommy Fritsch. Against East Troy he also put up an impressive 29 points, showing he’s not just a shooter as he was getting to the rim at will to score. Fritsch likes to play fast and excels at taking a defensive rebounding and immediately getting up the floor looking to score in transition. Really crafty finisher who can catch defenders off guard with same foot/same hand lay-ups that throw off shot blockers’ timing. Averaging 25.2 ppg through four games.
Ryan Weed
Ryan Weed
Ryan Weed is a physical inside presence who dominated on the glass. Pulling in 17 rebounds, he was ending opposing possessions after one shot, while keeping his team’s alive with his ability to fight for offensive boards. When he caught on the block he was looking to take one power dribble and explode to the basket off of two feet. Has above-the-rim finishing ability but also the touch to score off the glass. Finished with 24 points and 17 rebounds against Greendale.
