Brownstown Central @ Scottsburg

This highly anticipated southern Indiana matchup should bring out a ton of area fan support this evening. I will be making the trip down to cover this game live as well. Brownstown Central, the #1 ranked team in Class 2A in the Prep Hoops Indiana polls, enters with a 3-1 record and features Class of 2024 Purdue commit [player_tooltip player_id='1158245' first='Jack' last='Benter']. Benter is one of the top scorers in the state and will play alongside a couple of Scottsburg transfers in sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='1297005' first='Colby' last='Hall'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1296999' first='Chace' last='Coomer'] adding another layer to this rivalry. Scottsburg, a perfect 4-0, rides a very talented junior class and is currently ranked #4 in Class 3A by Prep Hoops Indiana. 6'8" forward [player_tooltip player_id='1578484' first='Wyatt' last='Zellers'], 6'3" guard [player_tooltip player_id='1401893' first='Kody' last='Clancy'], and 6'3" wing [player_tooltip player_id='1276470' first='Jack' last='Miller'] makeup the primary trio for the Warriors.

Carmel @ Noblesville

In the Indianapolis area we have a Class 4A Top 10 battle between #4 Carmel and #7 Noblesville. They Greyhounds have won back-to-back overtime contests against Plainfield and Fishers to move to 4-0 on the season while the Millers are a perfect 2-0 after last Friday's impressive win over Fishers. Belmont signee [player_tooltip player_id='1042491' first='Sam' last='Orme'] has had an excellent start to his senior season and should be well on his way to earning a spot on the Indiana All-Star team. As for Noblesville, they have a well-balanced attack led by seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1042494' first='Luke' last='Almodovar'], [player_tooltip player_id='868230' first='Preston' last='Roberts'], [player_tooltip player_id='1272185' first='Cooper' last='Bean'], and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1158209' first='Aaron' last='Fine']. This should be a fun heavyweight battle between two future Sectional 8 opponents.

Eastern Hancock @ Northeastern

For fans of smaller school basketball in east central Indiana this will absolutely be the game for you this evening. Eastern Hancock head coach Aaron Spaulding has won 283 games in 24 seasons with the Royals including a regional championship in 2022. They are now 2-1 and ranked #7 in Class 2A this week by Prep Hoops Indiana. Northeastern head coach Brent Ross is in year 14 with 224 victories. That's 507 wins combined between these two program leaders that you can see tonight in Fountain City. The Royals feature Coach Spaulding's twins [player_tooltip player_id='1393268' first='Jacob' last='Spaulding'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1393269' first='Silas' last='Spaulding'] who create a dynamic scoring backcourt. Meanwhile, Knights senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1292539' first='Grant' last='Luebbe'] is one of the area's best defenders and will look to slow down the dangerous Eastern Hancock offense.

New Palestine @ Greenfield-Central

Another east central Indiana battle between Hancock County foes will tip-off this evening as 3-0 Greenfield-Central plays host to 3-0 New Palestine. The Cougars have a potent backcourt featuring Marian signee [player_tooltip player_id='1049171' first='Dylan' last='Moles'], sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins'], and senior [player_tooltip player_id='1150129' first='Tyler' last='Kerkhof']. They will be matched up against another very skilled group on the Dragons side. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1295323' first='Ian' last='Stephens'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1160679' first='Blaine' last='Nunnally'] lead the way with 19.0 and 17.3 points per game respectively. Stephens also adds 8.3 rebounds while Nunnally dishes out 5.3 assists per game. A talented sophomore class adds some additional firepower as well. This matchup of county rivals also has Hoosier Heritage Conference and eventual Sectional 9 implications as well.

Southport @ Bloomington South

Class 4A #8 Southport takes their 2-1 record down to Bloomington South to face the 3-1 Panthers this evening. The Cardinals have all kinds of firepower with a deep senior class leading the way. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='935723' first='Anthony' last='Dancler'] has picked up where he left off pre-injury as Southport's leader in the backcourt. [player_tooltip player_id='868243' first='Keyon' last='Garrett-Miller'] is another talented guard while [player_tooltip player_id='868226' first='Jayden' last='Pinkston'] in a super athletic two-way wing and 6'6" [player_tooltip player_id='868221' first='Nickens' last='Lemba'] holds things down around the basket. For Bloomington South, 6'8" senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='1295381' first='Gavin' last='Wisley'] is the primary name to know. He is an excellent shooter at his size and creates a real matchup problem with his pick-and-pop abilities. Junior transfer guard [player_tooltip player_id='1160271' first='Zach' last='Sims'] is one to watch as well in the backcourt for the Panthers.
