La Verne — The Classic at Damien has become one of the premier post-Christmas high school basketball tournament stops on the West Coast.

This year's Damien field has expanded to seven divisions and 112 teams and seven champions will be named over the course of the five-day event.

Tuesday marked the start of the tournament's main division which featured top teams from California, Washington, Nevada, Utah and Idaho. In this piece we take a closer look at the top performers from Harvard-Westlake's semifinal win over Curtis of University Place, Washington.

Harvard-Westlake 78, Curtis (WA) 51

[player_tooltip player_id='992481' first='Brady' last='Dunlap'], Harvard-Westlake

Dunlap did as he always does and wait for good shots within the flow of the offense and knock them down. The 6-foot-7 Notre Dame-signee finished with 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting and did a lot of his damage at the mid-range level where he elevated and hit jumpers over top of the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1416284' first='Cinque' last='Maxwell'], Curtis

Maxwell is an interesting player because he technically plays the 5-spot for Curtis despite being guard-sized at 6-feet-1. The senior plays much bigger than his size and competed inside on the glass with opposing bigs but was also able to step out on the perimeter offensively where he knocked down shots or put the ball on the deck and finished athletically at the rim. Maxwell finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='994936' first='Jacob' last='Huggins'], Harvard-Westlake

Huggins was the most effective player for either squad as his combination of size, length and athleticism proved to be dominant on both ends. The 6-foot-8 Princeton-bound forward/center scored 18 points on 7-for-12 from the field - all in the painted area - grabbed 13 rebounds and controlled the lane defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630618' first='Nik' last='Khamenia'], Harvard-Westlake

Khamenia's all-around floor game was impressive as he scored an efficient 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting and was a high level passer and playmaker in transition, off the wing, and out of the mid-post. Khamenia, a 6-foot-8 wing, added five assists to a Wolverines offense that was moving and sharing the ball and turning down good shots for great shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1188984' first='Robert' last='Hinton'], Harvard-Westlake

Hinton was the most efficient scorer - percentage-wise - in the game as he connected on six of his seven shot attempts and finished with 13 points on the night. Most of Hinton's baskets were of the hustle variety where he drove and finished through contact or slashed off the ball and gave his teammate an assist.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502769' first='Trent' last='Perry'], Harvard-Westlake

Perry didn't have his best shooting night, but made up for it with is rebounding and playmaking while taking care of the ball. The 6-foot-4 point guard scored 14 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and controlled the pace of the game as the Wolverines' trigger man. This was Perry's second Classic at Damien game where he grabbed double-digit rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450483' first='Zoom' last='Diallo'], Curtis

Diallo, a five-star junior point guard, led all scorers with 22 points on the night and flashed some of what makes him such a coveted college prospect at the high major level. Diallo's combination of strength and explosive athleticism at 6-feet-5 makes him a guy who is difficult to keep out of the lane. When he's not creating shots for himself off the bounce, Diallo is an instinctual playmaker whose passes are timely and on target.
