Robbinsdale Cooper defeated Andover. Cooper had a great showing behind Michael Cooper Michael Cooper 6'6" | PF Robbinsdale Cooper | 2023 State MN and Samuel Massaquoi and they did that without their head coach Bo Powell there! Andover beat Lakeville South in 2OT the night before but a morning later they struggled. Ben Kopetzki Ben Kopetzki 6'0" | PG Andover | 2023 State MN was unstoppable but with Samuel Musungu Samuel Musungu 6'1" | PG Andover | 2023 State MN at the football all star game the Huskies couldn’t get two wins in a half day’s time.
Maple Grove over Cretin-Derham Hall. Good all around team win for Maple Grove who simply had more talent and limited the Raiders to 37 points.
DeLaSalle beat Minnetonka. An Instant Tip Off Classic, Classic! Nasir Whitlock Nasir Whitlock 6'2" | PG Delasalle | 2023 State MN with a Mr. Basketball moment taking the game over late and hitting the game winner. Whitlock’s make was likely the play of the day and it was a really nice win for the Islanders.
East Ridge defeated Osseo. East Ridge was just a little more skilled at guard, just a little bigger, a little more experienced, and it all equated to a slow slugfest victory. Cedric Tomes Cedric Tomes 6'0" | PG East Ridge | 2026 State MN put the game away late with a number of clutch late game plays, Raptors bounced back from a horrible game with Lakeville North to get a needed victory.
Hopkins over Bloomington Jefferson. The Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN / Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN mix tape video fest brought all the little cameras out and both Freitag and Moore lived up to the hype. Freitag had 36 and Moore had 30. The Royals had more depth getting 23 from Anthony Smith Anthony Smith 6'0" | CG Hopkins | 2025 State MN and a double-double from Vincent Hillehseim.
Orono over Minnehaha Academy. This was an odd but high scoring game. A 15 second shot clock wouldn’t have been needed. Isaiah Hagen Isaiah Hagen 6'3" | PG Orono | 2023 State MN hit for 36 and Ororo was over 100 points just flying all over. Minnehaha Academy got a big game from Rolyns Aligbe Rolyns Aligbe 6'9" | C Minnehaha Academy | 2023 State MN but Jerome Williams Jr Jerome Williams Jr 6'0" | PG Rock Creek Christian Academy | 2024 State MD fouled out really early. Orono looks very much like a title contender.
Eastview over Wayzata. The Lightning beating the Trojans was headlined by a big game from Jonathan Mekonnen Jonathan Mekonnen 6'8" | PF Eastview | 2024 State #201 Nation MN . The Mekonnen versus Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN match-up lived up to the hype with McAndrew looking like the best long term prospect in the class right now, but Mekonnen getting the edge with an efficient scoring game missing only four shots. The Lightning just got more from their full rotation
Lakeville North over Totino-Grace. Tommy Humphries Tommy Humphries 6'5" | SF Totino-Grace | 2023 State #283 Nation MN dealt with cramps most of the game. Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN fell flat on his back and seemed to be roughed up. Taison Chatman Taison Chatman 6'4" | PG Totino Grace | 2023 State #35 Nation MN barely played although he didn’t look hurt when he played or when he was walking around during timeouts. It was a bit of an odd game but we got to see a really nice battle between Patrick Bath Patrick Bath 6'9" | C Totino Grace | 2023 State MN and Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN inside and both came out looking good. Matt Drake Matt Drake 5'11" | PG Lakeville North | 2024 State MN ‘s clutch performance was quite noteworthy but it was also impressive how the Eagles were in it to the final minute despite their two best players not being on the floor for much of half two.
