Jack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Matt Drake caught fire in Lakeville North’s section quarterfinal win. The senior guard connected with five threes, finishing the game with 15 points. He is so hard to keep up with, as he does so much off-ball movement to free himself for open looks. A couple of his makes came off of hand-offs from a Panther forward where Drake could get his feet under him and drill a shot from beyond the arc in a flash. He is also one of the most trustworthy ball handlers in the state, conducting his team’s offense all season.

Matt dropped 26 points on Tuesday night to help lead his team past rivals Lakeville South. The senior point guard just never seems to stop moving, whether he’s weaving in-and-out of tight spaces with the ball, or making hard cuts off the ball to get some open looks at the rim. You would rarely see him make a mistake, and that allowed him to score with efficiency while also helping his team work for good looks possession after possession. Just about any time there was a dead ball, Matt would be in communication with his coaches, and was constantly relaying information to his teammates on the floor. One of the top uncommitted guards in the state’s 2024 class.
