Continue ReadingOne of the best long term prospects in the class and the top ranked point guard, Surratt has all the physical tools to be a big time recruit down the line. DeMarcus has the ability to lock down opposing guards and make their lives miserable. Offensively, his jump shot still needs to improve but he is a capable shooter and he’s hard to keep out of the paint when he wants to get there.
Highlights
Luke is a long and athletic wing who has been averaging a double-double so far this season. Fawns has been a varsity contributor for a while now and is on track to score a few thousand points in his high school career. Long term, the 6’5 wing projects to be one of the best players in the 10th region for the next few seasons and has D1 upside.
Jackson is a big wing who passes the eye test when you’re looking for a potential future D1 kid. Jeremiah has good positional size and athleticism. Right now he’s playing a role for St. X as more of a rebounder and hustle guy who gets his offense on putbacks and transition buckets. Don’t be surprised if he develops into a go to scorer for the Tigers by his Junior season as his stock looks like it will keep trending up.
Craig is off to a hot start this season as he’s averaging 16 points per game and shooting nearly 50% from three. Walker plays with the ball in his hands a lot for Rockcastle but his college position will be at the wing spot. His long term potential is definitely a D1 kid as he checks a lot of boxes you look for in a prospect. He does need to get more active as a rebounder to keep maximizing his impact on winning.
Boyd is off to a hot start at 8-1 this season and Spurlock’s shooting ability is a big reason why. Shooting 39% from deep and making over three per game, Jacob is establishing himself as one of the premier players in the mountains. The 6’2 guard will eventually need to get more comfortable attacking the rim and taking contact as he’s currently shot more 3s than 2s this season. As he starts getting to the FT line more, his scoring numbers will only increase.
