The final game of the day featured Tahoma and Annie Wright in the championship game of the fall league. This was a close game up until the second half, and it was tied at halftime. Annie Wright was without Martin Kaupanger Martin Kaupanger 6'5" | SG Annie Wright | 2025 State WA and Hunter Carter Hunter Carter 6'5" | CG Annie Wright | 2024 CO who were playing in another event. In the end Tahoma had too much size and pounded the ball inside for the victory. Here are some of the standouts from each team.

It wasn’t all inside play that won it for Tahoma. He was excellent on the perimeter and made some tough shots. He has a pure stroke from three and knocked down several, most of which didn’t touch anything but the bottom of the net. He was also effective at getting off his shot in the mid-range. He is a skilled player who can play either guard spot and should have a big season as one of the only returning players who saw meaningful minutes last season on a state tournament team.
Another of the few returning players who saw meaningful minutes last season on varsity. He is a good athlete with size. He runs the floor well and is active. He had a contested dunk on a fast break in the first game. He also knocks down threes, blocks shots, and rebounds. He is a a versatile player with great size to play inside and out. Tahoma had several other players who contributed in the title game. Unfortunately, I couldn’t track down any rosters.
His team might have lost, but he was the best player in the championship game. He had to have 20 or more points at halftime, most of which came in transition. He had a few steals jumping passing lanes that he converted with layups on the other end. He makes tough shots, one of which came on a step back fade away jumper from the baseline. This was a shot you don’t often see from a high school kid, much less a sophomore. He’s got good speed with the ball in his hands and he always has his head up. He can also get to the bucket. Not much he doesn’t do and he is one of many reasons Annie Wright is my favorite to win it all this year.

He had a solid showing on the day for Annie Wright His best asset was getting downhill and to the bucket. He did so on several occasions finishing tough, contested shots. He made a few from deep but his game is getting to the basket. He also showed some toughness on defense.
He is a crafty guard who handles the ball well. He can get himself into the paint and either find his teammate or finish with his craftiness. He also made a couple threes of his own in the championship game. A steady player who takes care of the ball and gets it to the right people.

Another underclassmen on a team full of them for Annie Wright. He had a solid day and hit several shots from beyond the arc. He has decent size and can play inside and out He was an important piece last year, so he’s no stranger to the big stage on an Annie Wright team hoping to get back to state and have a chance to bring home the gold ball this year.
This kid was tough in the paint. He showed off some great skills in the post. He played well with his back to the basket, including some nice footwork, using pivots to free himself up for layups. He is a strong kid with a big frame. He has the talent to be a really good player in the next two years for Tahoma.
