Although their size might not blow you away, but their energy on defense creates for the lack their of. Now take a look at the players who impacted the game.
Holt brought toughness to the guard position finishing with 19 points to lead all scorers. The sophomore already have a state ring from his last season in private school and brought the lessons he learned to Katy. Small body frame but you can tell he lifts by definition in his muscles. Can create plays for himself and his teammates. Can be a downhill finisher in transition. Use his bag tools to keep his defender off balance.

Half of the backcourt duo that helps his team get easy looks. Black finished with 13 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. Black gets his team in their set. Trevor Martz
Trevor Martz
Martz brings the grit and energy to the Warriors. Scoring ten pointsRotates quick to the help side making it difficult for Westfield to drive the ball. Seems to have the three-and-d role hitting two three pointers in the first half. His release is high and quick. Mart scored ten points and grabbed seven rebounds. Like to see more charges taken by him. Great anticipation in the help side, and can beat ball handlers to the spot.
WESTFIELD – The Mustangs look poise to claim another district title. New heroes are emerging for them after losing Zion. Westfield likes to get out the in open for easy transition points. Their blue-collar style of play can wear down opponents.
Jeremiah Cooper
Jeremiah Cooper
Cooper can be very efficient around the basket. The guards look for any opportunity to throw him a lob over defenders. This game Cooper length gave Jordan trouble shooting six out of seven from the field totaling 13 points. If he doesn’t grab the board, you can assure he got a hand on it.
Broomfield
Broomfield
Broomfield is a pure point guard being aware of situations. Drawing fouls at the half court line, which with 2:58 remaining he created the contact to put his team in the bonus. Notching over 25 minutes (29:30) he seem to be fresh legs late in the fourth. He was active scoring 14 points, four rebounds and assists, and two steals. Keep great poise when handling the ball. The look on his face never change.
Jutuan Clofer
Jutuan Clofer
To me Clofer was the player that sparked pull-away run late in the fourth. During a stoppage of play I asked somebody, “who made that pass,” after Clofer easy layup…… This young man turned me and said, “you wanna know who scored the bucket?” The fact he heard me asking show his awareness. He was the defensive vocal leader for the mustangs. Cuts behind the defense for easy layups, but can create for himself as well. Shot very well this game filling the box score with 18 points on making eight out of 14 shots.
