The new rankings update have yielded an entirely new field of names in the state that grace the top of the rankings. Here’s a look at the latest Top 10 prospects in the 2025 class.
Wilkins moves into the top spot in the 2025 class with the recent departure of Eli Ellis to Overtime Elite. Wilkins is a 6-foot-8 versatile forward that’s just scratching the surface of what he can do at RS-Central High. Mississippi State and Texas A&M have extended him offers already on the EYBL scene with Team United. He produced 15.2 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.8 bpg and 1.8 apg as a freshman on varsity in 2021-22 for a squad that went 26-3. Look for him to continue to show his presence on both ends of the floor in 2022-23.
Keith moves up into the 2nd spot, up from No. 7 in the last rankings update. He’s really come into his own as more than just the playmaking floor general, showing off his ability to navigate on all three levels and make things happen as a wing prospect currently. He holds offers from Illinois, Virginia Tech, Radford, Texas A&M and a few other D1 programs as he emerges as a leading name at Southern Durham High. The 6-foot-6 wing averaged 16.5 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.3 spg as a freshman with the Spartans.
White is a mainstay in the Top 10, remaining steady at the third spot in the 2025 rankings update. He’s due for a breakout sophomore season given the matchup problems he’s set to cause in the Myers Park High rotation following a year of varsity under his belt in 2021-22. He produced 6.0 ppg and 3.7 rpg as a reserve freshman. Virginia Tech, Florida State, LSU and Illinois are the latest schools to extend offers his way, adding to his list of 12 current offers.
Langdon moves to the fourth spot in the 2025 rankings update as he looks to lead the way for Millbrook High as their primary option in 2022-23 on the wing. He’s a volume perimeter threat that’s shown he can fill it up from deep and navigate the paint as a shot blocker and rebounder already as a presence on varsity. He averaged 14.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.3 bpg as a freshman.
Ware emerges off the watchlist and into the Top 5 of the 2025 rankings given his return from injury at 1 of 1 Academy in the Charlotte area. He’s a sizeable prospect at 6-foot-9 that’s already averaging 5.5 ppg and 6.3 rpg in his sophomore season. As he continues to adjust to the game and returns to form, he’ll be one to watch given his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.
Williams is quite the underrated floor general that’s spearheading a 5-0 start currently by the Forsyth Country Day Furies. He’s a point guard with a high IQ and solid defensive principles that allows him to make those around him go as he does. He’s a name to add on your radar college coaches as he knows how to fill up the stat sheet in a variety of ways.
Steinour is a 6-foot-8 prospect that plays with a ton of energy and has developed into quite the prospect over the last few months at Lake Norman High. He’s got the ability to play on the wing and on the interior given his ability to handle ball pressure and score on the perimeter and mid-range area. He averaged 4.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg and 1.9 bpg as a freshman and is due for a breakout sophomore season. Radford has offered him.
Slay is just a reserve currently with United Faith Christian Academy but he’s a young name to track at the 8th spot in the latest rankings update. He’s got the ability to score off the bounce when given opportunities, given his length and frame at 6-foot-5. He’s producing 6.7 ppg and 1.0 apg in their 5-0 start to the 2022-23 season.
McSweeney is another mainstay in the Top 10 rankings update, remaining at the 9th spot as he prepares for his sophomore season at Cardinal Gibbons High. He got some experience at the varsity level off the bench as a freshman appearing in 24 games, so look for that to carry over into the 2022-23 season.
Sharpe continues to remain on the radar in the 2025 class in the state, moving from No. 11 into the 10th spot in the latest update. He was the leading names for Cummings High in 2021-22 as they went 22-1 on the season in his freshman year. He put up 17.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.2 apg and 2.0 spg as he looks to build on that entering Year 2 on varsity.
