Some players used the past summer months as an opportunity to showcase their skills and rise in the rankings. Here’s a look at some of our top stockrisers.
11 ↑ 5 Jefferson has done it the old fashion way, he’s earned it. He’s been at his best against the toughest competition. He’s a dawg, with an Alpha personality. Jefferson plays both ends of the floor, relentlessly hounding ballhandlers, while showing the ability to be a scoring guard on the offensive end.
Highlights
16 ↑ 11 Townsend has looked phenominal during the summer. He’s a power guard, with the ability to get downhill and finish at the rim. He’s been much more explosive the last few times I’ve seen him play, which only adds to his rise. Townsend will see major minutes this season for a talented Arbor View Squad.
Highlights
20 ↑ 13 Baudreau is a big that gets a little better every time I see him. He runs the floor well, and can impact games with his abilty to block shots, and finish plays from the dunker spot. Really excited to see how much he’s improved and if he’s prepared to contribute to the powerhouse program.
Highlights
28 ↑ 15 Butler really impressed when I saw him at the Top250 Expo last month. The guard mixes athleticism with shiftyness, and has a great set of 1 v 1 moves. He has good size, and shoots it well enough to play off the ball, and handles well enough to score when he’s on it.
Highlights
50 ↑ 23 I have not been shy about the fact that I think Staton is a player on the rise. He had one of the largest jumps of any player in the rankings, moving from a top 50 prospect into the top 20. He has size, and runs the floor well, but what I like is that he has a little bit of nastyness to him. Staton is a big that is not afraid to finish everything with a dunk, when he’s anywhere close to the rim.
Highlights
30 ↑ 19 Stephenson is a physical specimen, that could be posied for a big season. He’s terrific when he can get downhill, and has been showing off a little more bounce recenctly. The stockriser is a powerguard with a developing skill set.
37 ↑ 25 Buchanan is a two sport star, that has the ability to be explosive when attacking the rim. His can defend multiple wing postions because of his agility, and his upper body strength allows him to bang against larger opponents on the interior.
