[player_tooltip player_id='1622333' first='Mahadev' last='Turlapaty'] - Mountain Vista - 2026

Turlapaty proved to constantly put pressure on the rim as a complementary scoring threat. The incoming freshman at Mountain Vista proved to add energy on offensive possessions through his notable endurance. Turlapaty scored a half dozen buckets from transition situations and showed no signs of fatigue by his final match. While the shooting guard was incredibly effective on the break, he also showed flashes as a halfcourt scorer. Turlapaty hit multiple threes off the catch, an area worth monitoring for his shot volume given how quick he can get it off. The shooting guard will be an intriguing second year candidate at Mountain Vista, given how deep their 2023 group currently is.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622284' first='Dante' last='Lechuga'] - Frederick - 2026

Lechuga proved to be a capable ballhandler within the fullcourt and halfcourt. The incoming freshman combo guard had the ball on a string, demonstrating patience against pressure and doubles teams from on-ball screens. Lechuga showed flashes hitting rollers out of the pick and roll or hitting wing shooters along the weak side. As he continues to get more reps against size, I have no doubt the young guard will become a steady perimeter playmaker.

Sorenson is one of the more advanced ballhandlers within the 2026 class, although only standing roughly 5'6. The incoming Thunderridge freshman has the ball on a string going either direction. Given his low center of gravity, Sorenson is an unassuming combo guard who has no fear taking it into the paint versus size. The guard understands his size limitations from a scoring perspective, however he has maximized his strengths as a passer. Sorenson will often roam across the baseline to draw attention around the rim, allowing him to hit cutters or open shooters.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622332' first='Jason' last='Stroope'] - Grandview - 2026

Stroope is a crafty left handed shooting guard who has clear scoring upside down the line. The incoming freshman shows upside as a shooter, often hitting shots off the catch. Given his immediate shooting gravity, Stroope leveraged those closeouts to attack the rim with aggresssion. Should they overhelp, Stroope keeps his eyes up to find open shooters, oftentimes in the corners.

Smith could be one of those volume shooters you need to respect from the volleyball line, hitting multiple deep threes throughout the showcase event. There are few freshmen possessing his level of confidence in the jumper, a testament to where the perimeter centric style of play is headed. Given his clear shooting gravity, Smith made sure to punish overaggressive helpside defense through kick out passes. Smith also showed flashes in transition, making dimes through tight pockets

[player_tooltip player_id='1622347' first='Philipe' last='Ndong'] - Northfield - 2026

Ndong will be an intriguing wing out of Northfield, given his wide reach and budding efficiency as a spot up shooter. The incoming freshman has plenty of potential as a two-way guard, notably from his defensive upside. Standing right around 6' tall, Ndong stays disciplined one on one, rarely creating senseless fouls. The key area worth monitoring will be his consistency shooting the rock, as he plays primarily an off-ball role right now.
