So instead, I’m opting to break down prospects by area. Starting with far west Kentucky AKA the first and second regions. Here’s a look at the top players in the farthest west area of Kentucky.
The closest thing to a no-brainer that you’ll see in any of these area rankings, Travis is a top 50-100 prospect in every set of 2024 rankings in America.
Highlights
Committed to Bellarmine, Whitaker led Murray to the Elite 8 at the Sweet 16 last spring and will look to do it again as a Senior.
Highlights
One of the latest 2023 prospects to earn a D1 offer, Eaves is a big time scorer who caught the eye of Ray Harper and Jacksonville State to earn an offer last month.
“G” has scholarship offers at multiple levels and is one of the toughest players to guard in the entire Second region. Look for Thomas to gather up more offers before signing day.
Highlights
Could it be too early to rank a 2026 kid this high? Maybe but Watkins looks like the real deal already and will only get better. Keep an eye out for him as a difference maker in the 2nd region.
Eli is like a younger version of Grant Whitaker Grant Whitaker 6’3″ | PG Murray | 2023 State KY in the way he plays the game and gets to his spots on offense. His recruitment will likely look similar as he has D1 upside.
One of the less heralded players in the class, Jack has the upside of a low D1 player as he just keeps getting better and taller. Reddick doesn’t get sped up and knows how to create offense for himself and others.
Highlights
Similar to Jack because they are both a little overlooked at Lyon, Brady is a stretch 4 or a big 3 who is a no doubt scholarship player in college and will have a chance at D1.
Highlights
It’s really a toss up between Hart and McCune as to who is the better prospect. Jack is more of a natural scorer and has a high upside long term. Both will go to college for free.
