The basketball season is around the corner with tryouts in less than six weeks for the Garden State. Transfers happen all the time and they should make an impact this winter, especially in the 2025 class. Here are the 2025 impact transfers to watch this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411622' first='Mekhi' last='Ragland'], 6'6 PF Hudson Catholic

Ragland joins a talented Hawks squad that went 23-3 last season and took home the Hudson County Tournament title. The DePaul Catholic transfer knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Ragland has a solid face-up game as he can put the ball on the floor and knock down open jumpers from behind the arc. He is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and can pass out of the post. Ragland will hold down the interior for Hudson Catholic's talented guard quartet of [player_tooltip player_id='1050389' first='Tahaad' last='Pettiford'], [player_tooltip player_id='902741' first='Elijah' last='Gertrude'], [player_tooltip player_id='1411409' first='Omari' last='Moore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1050399' first='Alex' last='Massung'] as the Hawks will be one of the top teams in the Garden State this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1547474' first='Yaw' last='Ansong'], 6'11 C Union Catholic

Ansong should make an immediate impact on the Vikings as they have the potential to make a lot of noise this season. The 6'11 post runs the floor hard, setting himself up for easy dunks in transition. Ansong has good hands as he rarely drops passes thrown his way and has a nice release on his jumper. He uses his length to swat shots around the basket and is a solid rebounder. Ansong's combination of size, length, athleticism and skill makes him a post prospect to watch in the Garden State this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1413226' first='Nahsirr' last='Hart'], 6'7 F St. Thomas Aquinas

Hart is one of the most intriguing prospects in the Garden State as he impacts the game in a variety of ways. The lanky 6'7 forward explodes off the floor for big-time dunks and does not mind drawing contact in the paint. Hart can put the ball on the floor to get to the rim and can knock down jumpers on the perimeter. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Hart has only scratched the surface of his potential and will be one to track in New Jersey throughout his varsity career.

[player_tooltip player_id='1553776' first='Farouk' last='Muntari'], 6'8 PF Union Catholic

Muntari joins Ansong at Union Catholic where they should be one of the top frontcourt duos in the Garden State. The 6'8 forward has a good face-up game as he can get to the rim from the perimeter and finish around the basket. Muntari has a high release point on his jumper, which makes it hard for defenders to challenge his shot. He uses his athleticism to impact shots around the basket and moves well without the ball in his hands. Muntari and Ansong will be a tough duo to stop on the interior as the Vikings will be a team to watch in Union County.

[player_tooltip player_id='1623005' first='Malachi' last='Arrington'], 6'10 C Immaculate Conception

Arrington will be a big man to watch in Essex County as the Lions will be one of the top teams in the SEC. The 6'10 post knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Arrington is a solid passer and is gaining more confidence on his jumper. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and holds his ground on the defensive end. Arrington is a physical forward prospect who should control the paint for Montclair Immaculate's dynamic duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1050393' first='TJ' last='Robinson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1150465' first='Tavian' last='Pullock'].
