Section 5AAAA Rundown
Park Center lost their entire starting five but have their top two reserves, they have talent coming up from the JV, and they brought in a couple transfers that are among the best players in their class. They are the preseason number one with enough talent to defend their title. Osseo lost their top five scorers to graduation or transfer, but they are still in a good spot. UMD committed Trey Smith Trey Smith 6'7" | SF Osseo | 2023 State MN is there, they will have a fantastic backcourt led by Larkins, Swanson, and Temi Denedo, and they got four transfers that will help. Mounds View won 16 games last year and returns two starters, Champin Park should take a big step with Peterson at PG, Graff as the shooter, and Kamara inside, and Maple Grove has a fantastic lead guard and big that play smart basketball. Irondale was one of the best stories of last season and they will be tough to beat, it’s just that so many of those good players graduated. Spring Lake Park struggled last year and have a new line-up, but there is talent there. Bottom line though, Park Center is most talented, Osseo is top ten, and Maple Grove could be a top ten team.
