Wise caught my attention early when he forced a turnover in the backcourt. It was then very easy to see the affect his hustle on the defensive end had on the game as a whole.
Highlights
When I watched Huang play, he was making it very tough for his opponent to get easy transition points. He sprinted back to the defensive end and even blocked a shot when doing so.

Mielock was basically willing to do whatever was needed on the defensive end of the floor. He worked really hard on that side of the floor and used his basketball IQ and strength to be successful.
Physicality can be a huge benefit on the defensive end and that was certainly the case for Becher. He simply refused to back down no matter who the opponent was.
Karel had a lot going for him defensively on Saturday. He did a great job using his length to challenge, alter and block shots. Offensive players had to be very aware of where he was.
Highlights
Dorsett was really impressive with his defense at the Top 250. He was quick and fast and didn’t really get beat to spots on the floor. Dorsett even managed to draw a charging call which is incredibly rare at a showcase.

Suleiman came in with a reputation as a skilled offensive player, and while he played excellent at that end, it was his D that stood out when I watched him. I was impressed with the way he shut opponents down both on the perimeter and in the paint.
Highlights
Great defense can often times start with pure heart and guts. It looked like that’s what drove Morris on that end of the floor. He was a scrappy energy defender that never gave up on a play.
Highlights
Length can’t be taught, but someone has sure taught Regnerus how to use it. He did a nice job of staying vertical and challenging shots without fouling. Regnerus had more than a handful of blocks when I saw him play.
