The Section 7 event in Arizona gave us a hint of 2026 prospects who are varsity level players. High School summer leagues, and showcase events were places we identified a few quality 2026 prospects. As the season progresses we’ll see more Freshman playing at the varsity level and add them to our watch list.
In this group of 2026 players we feel comfortable saying they’ll be contributors at the varsity level in the upcoming season.
In our last article we talked about two incoming Freshman who’ll be contributors Dre Gomez 6’5 G/F of Grant HS, Team Lillard . He’s a starter putting up good numbers. Nathan Hibbert 6’6 W/F of Vanden HS. A big body, plays with confidence, has a good skill set for a Freshman. He’ll be competing for minutes on a good team with depth.
Tyran Stokes 6’6 Guard of Prolific Prep. Team Why Not 16U EYBL
Stokes is the best 2026 prospect in NorCal, (originally from Kentucky), and probably the State of California. He’s chosen to go play at the prep school in Napa, and was recently invited to the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Minicamp in Colorado in October. He’ll be ranked at the top when 2026 rankings are posted later down the road.
Raymond Whitley 6’2 Guard of Saint Ignatius HS, Oakland Soldiers 15 EYBL
He’s a determined guard who has the ability to contribute right away, and make a difference at the varsity level. The only question is will he start or come off the bench. Either way he plays hard, and competes regardless of the competition. He has that toughness you want to see, he’ll generates buckets in different ways.
Maximus Vanlaningham 6’8 Forward of Woodcreek HS, YBA Elite 2026
We saw Vanlaningham in a summer showcase event with his high school team. He should start and contribute right away on the varsity. Right now he looks most effective working in the post area on both ends. He’ll continue to grow his skill set away from the basket. He has good body control, and plays on balance. He’s a good court runner, and is active going after rebounds and blocks.
Davis, Isaiah 5’10 Point Guard of Salesian Prep HS, Oakland Soldiers 15U EYBL
He’s a quick, slick handling guard who uses quickness, and speed to run by defenders. He’s fearless going to the basket, and a disruptor using quick hands, and good on ball defense. He’s hard to slow down in transition. He’ll pass and run the offense. He’s a confident shooter when he goes looking for it. He’ll be a spark off the bench
