Gingeleski is part of the reason o think the strongest position group in Tampa will make its bigs. The 6’11 prospect runs the floor, gets off the floor with ease, and fights for position around the rim. He’ll be ranked inside the top 100 players in the state when we release a new ranking in October. As the oldest returning player on a team that graduated three seniors, this could be the year he showcased his physical tools to scouts.
Jones stole the show from the tip. He played every game with something to prove, even jumping into other games when a player went do with an injury when his team was resting. The 6’7 big ran the floor hard, attacked slower-footed bigs off the dribble, and was active in the paint. He played both sides of the court well, showed overall game development, and the aggression needed to play down low.
Wylde Correa
Correa played on the side with the lesser-known kids, but as the only 6’7 kid in the group, he stood out. He runs the floor well and has length. The kid is raw, but you can’t teach size and heart.
Hobbs has been a walking double-double for the past year. He’s incredibly athletic, 6’5 forward that gets off the ground in a flash. He’s a terror on the boards, defends several positions, and excels as a rim protector. His coach knows for him to play on the wing at the next level, he’ll have to shoot the three, and he’s taking it to heart. Hobbs made two of his six attempts through three games.
Moore was one of the best big men in the gym. The 6’7 forward has spring-loaded legs, runs the floor hard, and has great hands. The senior finishes above the rim quickly, can hit the corner three, and make hustle plays. Expect a big year out of him.
Reins is another reason I’m high on the big man group in the area. The 6’8 sophomore has taken a leap in his development. We had him as a top 50 freshman after last season because of his potential, and it’s turning it into production. He started the day off with a one dribble poster dunk from the wing on a player with similar size. Reins is a strong around the rim and finishes through contact. He has good touch around the rim and grabs offensive rebounds. Reins could make his mark as he replaces Patrick Ruffner at Jesuit.
Jayden Guillaume
Guillaume has the size and frame to be a good prospect. He’s a 6’8 big man that didn’t produce in this setting. It’s his size and potential that makes him worth tracking. He’s only a junior, so he has time, but getting in shape and being mean on the block will be necessary.
