Winters stood out for Ohio Rebels playing up 16 U this spring as his shot-making and quickness impressed me from the shooting guard position. Richmond Heights won a state title with a senior and freshman led team and Winters will be expected to be a major contributor in their state title defense season. If Winters can continue to progress as a passer and defender, he will make a big impact at the varsity level this season and has a chance to end up a scholarship prospect.
Spiva played JV as a freshman on another state championship squad, but I really like the future for this combo guard. Spiva plays with good pace to his game and showed me that he was capable of running the offense and making an impact off ball by attacking closeouts and making the right read. Spiva will be battling upperclassmen for minutes at Pickerington Central this season but given the chance, I expect Spiva to make a positive impact for the Tigers this season.
Highlights
One of the elite shooters in the state, Collins got some valuable varsity experience last season in the backcourt next to current Ohio Bobcat Ajay Sheldon. Collins will be leading the Coffman offense as a Sophomore and with some impressive shooters and skilled forwards, Coffman could surprise people this winter. Collins has gotten experience playing against more athletic competition and that will only help him down the line as Collins is learning how to handle pressure and put his teammates in advantageous situations.
Webb is another elite shooter who made his name known as a freshman scoring 8 PPG on 44% from 3-point range. Webb is a smaller framed guard and as he matures physically, will be able to score more around the basket as he fills out. Currently, Webb is dangerous from downtown and has some shiftiness with his handle that he uses to create for himself. I also want to see if Webb is more of a point guard or shooting guard as he’s already shown the ability to knock down shots off the catch at a high percentage, but if he can also set his teammates up and get into the offense, he’ll raise his ceiling as a prospect.
