The event showcased some of the top incoming players from the class of 2026 through a variety of drills and a couple of scrimmages. I was able to attend the event and here’s a look at some of the top standouts I saw.
1. Ty Ingram – San Ysidro High School
Ingram is a gifted scorer for a young player. He can get to his spots on the court with limited dribbles. He gets to the middle of the court and can attack well from there. Loves to shoot the midrange pull-up. He’s a natural shooting guard and he has good handles. He can face up in the halfcourt and does a good job creating space to get off his jumper. Attacks well off the dribble. He’s a good athlete too who can get out in transition as the ball-handler and finish well at the rim.
2 Brayden Kyman – Santa Margarita High School
Kyman was another player who stood out in one-on-one drills and in full court scrimmages. He’s a big wing who has very good handles for his size. His on ball defense was one of the main things that stood out as he uses his length and mobility well to keep up with opposing ball-handlers and contest jumpers well. He can pull-up in transition and shoot the three or he can post up smaller defenders. In the post, he has solid footwork and uses fakes and spin moves to get the defense out of position. He can also shoot the fadeaway jumper from the post. Good court vision; sees floor and passes like a point guard.
3 Jaxon Richardson – Bishop Gorman High School
The son of former NBA guard Jason Richardson, Jaxon is also a high-flying wing who gets up high around the rim. He swoops in on the offensive glass keeping possessions alive and getting his team extra shot opportunities. He’s already dunking effortlessly as a freshman. He’s active around the rim and does a good job making baseline cuts and positioning himself in the dunker’s spot and his teammates look for him for easy buckets. Defensively, he has good length and contests shots well on the perimeter.
4 Jaden Whitehead – St. Bonaventure High School
Whitehead has the makings of being an impact wing at the high school. He does a good job moving without the ball and getting himself open on the perimeter. Good catch and shoot player from three-point range. He can also be effective with the ball in his hands. He’s comfortable in the halfcourt with attacking off the dribble and he’s able to finish strong at the rim. He’s a good rebounder too who positions himself well and boxes out.
