Grant Johnson Grant Johnson 6'4" | SF Brainerd | 2026 State MN of Brainerd. Some schools seems to have an endless supply of 6’4, 6’5 active and aggressive producers and Brainerd seems to be the school. Grant Johnson Grant Johnson 6'4" | SF Brainerd | 2026 State MN rebounded well, ran the floor well, set good screens, and finished consistently.
Maddox Lewis Maddox Lewis 6'3" | SF Sartell | 2026 State MN of Sartell-St. Stephen. When it comes to shooters Maddox Lewis Maddox Lewis 6'3" | SF Sartell | 2026 State MN ranked with the best percentage wise that I saw at the event. Lewis, who seems to grow an inch every time I see him, was one of the few “extra pass” headliners as well often turning down shots so a teammate could have a better one (rare for this event). So, one of the most efficient shooters at the Showcase and one of the better passers. Nice start.
Banyaan Omot Banyaan Omot 6'5" | PF Austin | 2026 State MN of Austin. The 6’5 big has skills, a nice low post game, a good turn and hit to him, and the makings of the next post at Austin High. Omot was consistent and the length he has makes you wonder how big he could become and with that length and skill could come a ton of production.
Kyler Pust Kyler Pust 5'11" | PG Champlin Park | 2026 State MN of Champlin Park. The 5’10 guard caught my attention by finishing with both hands and using both hands very well handling the ball. Kyler dribbled a lot. And when I say a lot, I’ll bet he led the event in halfcourt dribbles, but with that you could see the quality of handles. A player that really enjoyed himself at the event especially after his buckets.
Cedric Tomes Cedric Tomes 6'0" | PG East Ridge | 2026 State MN of East Ridge. The likely starting point guard for the Raptors looks a big bigger than when I saw him last summer and his hesitation dribble and nasty crossover into the pretty touch surely shined even more playing against guys his own age. Loved what Tomes did after the corner turns. He would then feel the contact, separate and score, or Tomes would separate at an angle the defender couldn’t turn to, and Tomes has the ability to foresee each defensive step from the help.
Ryker Van Nostrand Ryker Van Nostrand 6'4" | SF Washburn | 2026 State MN of Minneapolis Washburn. Each basketball event that goes by we seem to run into another player that makes us say “Washburn has some guys coming up”. Ryker, who is 6’3, looks to be that next player. Van Nostrand consistently boarded, scored at the cup, and when he faced he made a good percentage of his looks.
Dominic Webster Dominic Webster 6'3" | PF Elk River | 2026 State MN of Elk River. Another of the young Elks that impressed, Webster is a 6’3/6’4 forward. Webster was bigger and stronger than 97 percent of the players at the event so when they tried to sloppy closeout on Dominic he pretty much went around them and then swiped at them on the turn to make sure they wouldn’t follow. He set big screens and finished with both hands at the cup. Will either get taller and be a nice sized frontcourt player that can face and play or he will stay the same height and become a strong lineman like sized athlete and be a physical force.
