Tian continues to impress me this summer with a solid performance at this year’s Freshman Showcase. He really stood out to me with his ability to get the rim and finish through contact. He did this on numerous occasions and is hard to stay in front of with the different combinations he has in his arsenal. He was also extremely effective in cutting backdoor and running transition, setting himself up for success with some easy looks. Chatman will team up with his older brother Taison at Totino-Grace for his freshman season. The Eagles are loaded with talent this year and Tian adds to their deep young core of prospects.

Lucas is a very gifted all-around player who can contribute playing both of the guard spots. He is an exceptional scorer, being able to connect with shots from deep three-point range or being able to attack the rim in the half court, as well as in transition. When he is running the floor he can stop on a dime for a smooth eurostep that I have seen him pull out a couple times this summer. He was not only a standout on the offensive side of the ball though. He has a knack for poking the ball away from opposing ball handlers and intercepted at least three inbounds passes in the one game that I watched. He will accompany another underclass star Brogan Madson Brogan Madson 6’1″ | PG Mankato East | 2025 State MN in the Mankato East backcourt this upcoming season.
Camar plays with incredible energy and is a player who is always playing at 100%. He is probably the quickest player I saw this past Saturday and can blow past his defender in the blink of an eye with a plethora of different moves. I was constantly seeing defenders bite on his ball fakes, making it even easier for him. Blades is an undersized guard, but I saw him come away with a couple offensive rebounds from just hustling around and reading where the ball will come off of the rim. He was one of the smoothest players I saw at this year’s Freshman Showcase and also has one of the coolest names I have ever seen (not kidding). He will be added to the long list of talent coming out of the Park Center program.

Kyler was not backing down from anyone at this year’s Freshman Showcase. He plays the game with such a high intensity and is always giving it his all on both ends of the floor. He really excelled in getting to the basket, oftentimes creating his own one-man-fastbreak. He is both quick and fast, as he can blow by his defender in the half court and can out run the opponent in transition. He is also a very strong player, showing off his strength with some tough offensive and defensive rebounds. Pust was very tough to contain for the defense all day. He will be showcasing his talent for Champlin Park in the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

Joel was a player who I had never seen play before who really jumped out to me right off the bat. He is twitchy with the ball in his hands and he was leaving defenders guessing all day. I could not tell what side was his weak side for most of the game because he was very skilled with either his right or left when handling the ball and finishing at the rim. I also saw flashes of what he can do from the perimeter as he knocked down a pair of pull-up mid-range jumpers. He was also making it tough for opponents with his on-ball defending presence on the other side of the ball. He will be a Falcon for his freshman season, suiting up for Robbinsdale Armstrong.

This was my second time seeing Lamont play this summer and I was impressed once again. His game is not necessarily quick or fast, but he plays at his own pace and does not let anyone rush him into making any bad decisions with the ball in his hands. He also did a great job getting his hands in passing lanes, resulting in steals going the other way for his team. On top of that, he has some of the best vision I saw all day and was incredible in passing in the pick and roll. Michaels is going to be a player to watch in this class for sure. He will spend his freshman season at Two Rivers where I would not be surprised if he got some varsity minutes.
This was my second time seeing Pierless play this summer and one attribute of his game continues to stand out to me the most. That would be his feel for the game. He just looks so much more mature than everyone else when he has the ball in hands and it seemed that he was always making the right plays with his decision making and precise passes. He also did a great job attacking the rim and was able to finish with either hand even with some traffic in his way. Davis will join the deep pool of young talent in the Totino-Grace system this year.
