Avery Thomas — SF — Magnolia Elite — 16U
Thomas was at his best on Saturday morning. The 6-foot-4 small forward was terrific on both ends of the court. On offense, the SF constantly attacked the rim. He did a great job of using his athleticism and strength to finish through contact. On defense, he uses his quick feet and long arms to stay in front of whoever he was guarding. I really like Thomas’ game — he is no doubt one of the biggest stock risers from Saturday.
Caleb West — SF — Magnolia Elite — 16U
On the offensive end of the court, West is extremely dangerous. The 6-foot-3 small forward has tremendous positional size, which he uses to convert on layups through contact in the paint. I like how unselfish West is, too. He doesn’t take too many shots; he is always looking to move the ball if the open shot isn’t there. Look for West to continue to have a huge summer.
Isaiah Mahal Isaiah Mahal 6'4" | SG Northfield | 2025 State MN — PG — Minnesota Heat — 15U
I really like Mahal’s overall game. The point guard is a playmaker on both ends of the court. Mahal plays at his own pace; he never rushes and is always looking to make the right basketball play. He can knock down outside shots, hit the mid-range, and convert on layups. On the other end of the court, the PG is very gritty and tough. He has no problem sacrificing his body for team success.
Ian Schnabel — PF — Minnesota Heat — 15U
Schnabel is a prospect with a lot of potential. Standing at 6-foot-6, the power forward has great positional size. In the paint, Schabel does a good job of using his size to convert on layups. I like how he is able to rebound on both ends, too. Schabel is the type of prospect who never gives up on a play. He is always fighting for rebounds. If Schnabel is able to improve and add some new elements to his game, the PF could be a player to keep an eye on.
Drew Daoust Drew Daoust 6'2" | PG Southern Door | 2025 State WI — PG — Wisconsin Crusaders — 15U
I really love how Daoust plays. The Wisconsin Crusaders point guard is a terrific floor general who always makes the right play. He searches for his own shot but is never selfish. He looks for open teammates but never over-passes. In a Saturday afternoon game, the point guard was able to score well by knocking down outside shots.
Michael Crawford — SG — Pittsburgh Pioneer Elite — 16U
Crawford emerged as a prospect standout at the Summer Challenge in the spring. The shooting guard impressed as a pure scorer and slasher. On Saturday, Crawford once again showed some flashes of greatness. He is an elite ball handler who uses his handles to break down his defender and get to the rim. At the rim, Crawford is very creative. He can finish with either hand in many different ways.
Askia Bullie — PG — Powerhouse Sports — 16U
Bullie is one of the best pure point guards that I have had the opportunity to watch this summer. As a ball handler and passer, it just doesn’t get much better than the Powerhouse Sports standout. He is able to fling accurate passes to open teammates with ease. He also is very talented as a scorer. He does a great job of getting to the rim and knocking down mid-range jumpers.
Mario Parker Jr — SG — Powerhouse Sports — 16U
Parker got off to a slow start in the first half on Saturday. But in the second half, he flipped the switch. The shooting guard was ultra-aggressive. He did a tremendous job of putting a lot of stress on the opposing defense by attacking the rim. He was able to tally several layups in a short amount of time. I was very impressed by Parker’s second half scoring burst.
