Derrick Brown 2025 5’9 Mansfield Summit High School (AYG Lakers 2025)
Derrick is a high level point guard who has all of the skills you would need for a complete next generation floor general. He calmly knocked down shots off the bounce, and is not afraid to pull it as a defender is sprinting at him to close out. He routinely makes defenses pay for relaxed coverage on the perimeter. Where he really stood out to me was his ability to put just the right amount of touches on his passes to find cutting teammates. His ability to constantly create opportunities for his teammates in the full court and the half court allowed them to quickly get shots up, but also made easy looks for them to find. He has complete point guard like control to the game and thrives at picking apart the defense, at times by simply manipulating them with his eyes.
Fletcher Cravens 2025 5’10 Hebron High School (Valor/ Union 2025 Purple)
Fletcher is a high level guard prospect with his ability to score from beyond the arc. He simply caught fire from beyond the arc, scoring off the bounce in bunches. I watched him hit four three pointers just in the first half of his first game on Friday night, including an opportunity at the unconventional four point play. His release point is very consistent which allows him to replicate his shooting motion off the catch or bounce. I was very impressed with how well he scored from beyond the arc, moving without the ball and creating separation without even handling the ball. The threat of his three point shots was on full display and used it to create driving lanes for himself and his teammates. The defense knew they had to key on him in order to shut him down, which forced them to be a step late as a help side defender. I would like to see him get more aggressive with his handle, and show a more willingness to evenly attack across all three levels of the floor. He can get his shot off over anyone, and its not going to be too long before he figures it all out!
Amir Tomas 2026 5’11 (TJ Ford Basketball 2025)
Amir is a high level guard with his ability to create separation with a live dribble, but also his ability to calmly score across all three levels of the court. I was very impressed with his fluidity and ability to control the pace of the game with the ball in his hands, calmly pushing the tempo when he has the opportunity, or slowing it down and making good decisions within the half court. Right now he is tasked with finding success in a more combo guard type role, not constantly dominating the basketball with the older players. I think it is great for his development, you can watch him work on finding angles to come and get the ball or cut without it for easy opportunities. It will only continue to develop his overall vision and play-making while he is on the court. He is a complete three level scorer off the bounce, calmly rising up with a live dribble and scoring beyond the arc. He was the youngest player on the court, yet still led the team in scoring. I was very impressed with his overall quickness with the basketball, routinely turning the corner on stronger and older defenders. I was blown away to learn that he was a 2026 prospect, this is one I cannot wait to watch over the coming years!
Sion Cleveland 2025 6’0 Memorial High School, TX (1 Dream 1 Team Sports 2025)
Sion is a confident point guard prospect who has really improved across all aspects of his game over the last few months. He thrives at getting to his shot off the bounce from all three levels of the floor. The guard has come a long way over the last few circuit months and is now a dynamic scorer from the mid-range and beyond the arc. I was very impressed with his shooting touch from the perimeter and how well he has developed blending his decision making and aggressiveness. He is showing off a tremendous amount of IQ for a point guard and is beginning to use it to set up looks for his teammates and himself. I loved what I have seen from him from a creation stand point over the last few months, he calmly makes good decisions out of the pick and roll as well as while running plays and initiating offense. His motor is non stop, and is something that college coaches will covet. He is constantly fighting for extra opportunities and lives on the glass for his size and position.
Javori Washington 2025 6’1 Cypress Falls High School, TX (1 Dream 1 Team Sports 2025)
Javori is an aggressive guard who can lock up his defender and finish through the chest of any opponent in the paint. He is elite at turning defense into offense and finishing on the fast break. In transition, he is a force to be reckoned with, he attacks straight down the floor and forces the defense to react. He is good at waiting for just the right moment to find his teammates wide open cutting to the basket after drawing the attention of their defender. His relentlessness with a live dribble and constant penetration allows him to live in the paint, and create countless opportunities for his teammates. I was very impressed with his ability to not only hunt for his own shot but create layups from his dump off passes after drawing a second defender, or an accurate pass out to his shooters. In the half court, he is a real weapon out of the pick and roll through his ability to tightly turn the corner and forcing the second defender to make a decision. He calmly makes the right reads time and time again to get his teammates open looks.
