Jordan Gassen, 6’0 PG 2024 OSA Supreme Travis 16 U: Gassen finished around the basket off two feet and had the strength to play through contact. Gassen also played under control when he was around the rim and was efficient. OSA Supreme was also dominant when Gassen was on the court, making multiple big runs to pull away. Gassen also had a bit of burst when attacking closeouts and using his driving game with the ball in his hands.
Luke Goldman Luke Goldman 6'1" | PG Park Vista | 2024 FL , 6’1 SG 2024 Team Trilogy 16 U: The lefty Goldman finished around the basket and was patient when he got the ball inside the paint. Goldman even stepped out and drained a 3-pointer from the corner and the wing to make a run in the second half. I liked Goldman’s toughness in the paint and his efficiency even though his team fell.
Will Yates Will Yates 6'2" | SG Springboro | 2024 State OH , 6’2 SG 2024 Midwest Basketball Club Gold 16 U: This was my first time watching Yates since the high school season and once again he impressed with his slashing ability. Yates is quick off the catch and has the floater shot down pat which allows him to surprise the defense with when he shoots while he attacks the rim. Yates also drew fouls and made some contested catch and shoot 3’s. A solid offensive performance for the wing who looks like a potential scholarship prospect in the 2024 class.
Maddox Dow, 5’9 PG 2024 KC Spurs Silver 16 U: Dow was the best defender I saw on Friday, harassing whoever he was guarding on or off ball. His defensive pressure caused a five second count late in the game and multiple offensive fouls. Scoring wise, Dow made open shots and had the biggest bucket of the game when he pump-faked in the lane to force the defense to blow by while he shot an easy layup to put his team up three points as they would close out the victory.
Jordan Childress Jordan Childress 5'10" | PG Rancho | 2024 State NV , 6’1 SG 2024 Hardwork Dedication 16 U: Childress made the plays of the game late to lead his team to a 59-55 victory. After the game was tied with a minute to go, Childress drove to the lane and scored to put his team up two points. Then he stole the ball and got a breakaway layup to seal the victory. Childress was relentless on defense all night and finished around the basket with both hands. While it looked like his team was going to blow a lead late, Childress stepped up and was the difference in the closing moments.
