Here’s a look at part one of the 16U standouts from the event.
Jayden Harris Jayden Harris 6'8" | SG Potomac Va | 2023 State VA | 6’6” WF | Team Loaded VA 2024
“Juke” as he’s known by teammates and coaches is well on his way to being a nationally ranked player in the 2024 class and his play this weekend showed why. In one of the games I watched, he went for 33 points hitting five 3-pointers and showing a variety of ways that he can score the ball both off the catch and off the bounce. He moves well off the ball and gets into his shooting motion with ease, he can put it on the deck and has a great hesitation and change of pace to his game and he has the size to knock down shots over defenders in the midrange and finish at the rim when he’s open.
Kennard Wyche Jr. | 5’8” PG | Team Loaded VA 2024
Wyche is the guy you wouldn’t expect to kill you when you look at this roster, but the Varina High School point guard just brings a lot of stuff to the team that makes him a winner and a vital piece to this team. First off, he’s a fantastic defender who can get under ball handlers and guard them the length of the floor, turning them and forcing turnovers or just getting the ball out of your primary ball handler’s hands all together. He rebounds well for his size, he can get in the lane where he can finish with either hand and has a good midrange game and he’s a very good playmaker with good feel and vision as well.
Peyton Marshall Peyton Marshall 7'0" | C Overtime Elite | 2024 State GA | 7’0” C | Game Elite 2024
Marshall is a massive individual standing 7’0” and close to 300 pounds, but he is more than just a bully in the post as he can flat out play and can dominate the game in a number of different ways. He’s very patient when he’s in the post and can survey the floor and hit cutters or shooter when the double team comes, he has great hands and feet and can bury players deep in the post to score it with either hands and he has good touch out to the elbows and beyond as well. He moves well for his size and will only get better with that as he sheds weight and puts on muscle, and his presence in the paint alters the game on both ends of the floor.
Cornelius Brown Cornelius Brown 6'1" The Walker | 2024 GA | 6’1” PG | Game Elite 2024
Brown was fantastic for Game Elite when I watched them, both controlling the game and putting guys in position to succeed while also being a constant scoring threat with the ball in his hands as well. He plays with great pace and controls the tempo of the game, he can score it from all three levels off the bounce and create his own shot and he has go-getter mindset and style of play that makes him very effective in a number of different ways. He comes at you time and time again and with his tough shot making ability and his ability to make others better he will attract a lot of attention from college coaches.
Jayce Nathaniel Jayce Nathaniel 6'7" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ | 6’6” F | Game Elite 2024
Nathaniel was far from the top scorer when I watched them, but he brought a presence off the bench and made big plays every time they needed him to and you can’t ignore the potential he has moving forward. At 6’6” he’s a well-rounded inside-out threat that doesn’t have a ton of holes in his game, he can put it on the deck and get to spots on the floor where he can score it from all over and he hit big shot after big shot down the stretch when I watched them. At his size and his budding skillset, I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes a leap over the next few years to be a very intriguing prospect moving forward.
Andreo Ash Andreo Ash 6'8" | SG Liverpool | 2024 State #161 Nation NY | 6’7” PF | NY Jayhawks 2024
Ash was fantastic when I watched the Jayhawks, going for 17 points and dominating both in the paint and around the elbows and extended as well. First off, his physical qualities are impressive as he has a good frame that should slim down and fill out, and he has huge feet and long arms that indicate he could still be growing moving forward. He possesses a good skillet with the ability to drill jumpers out to 18 feet, he knows how to use his body to create space and finish in the paint and he can rebound and is a good outlet passer as well.
Tito Majuk | 7’0” C | NY Jayhawks 2024
Majuk is far from a finished product, but the upside is really scary with his mix of size, athleticism and a skillset that should just continue to improve moving forward. At 7’0” he runs the floor extremely well and is a very good athlete for someone his size, he routinely beat guys down the floor for a number of impressive dunks and he showed good shooting touch hitting two three-pointers in the game I watched where he finished with 17 points. He has all the tools to be an elite rim protector and rebounder, and if he continues to work at his game and develop he’ll be very intriguing for college coaches moving forward.
