Isaiah Williams (2025) Beavercreek
Williams continues to put on a clinic this Summer for the Beavers and has been one of the better guards I’ve seen so far. The lefty is collected with the ball and continues to show multi-level scoring potential. Only a sophomore, Williams is showing me he can be the guy that puts the Beavers on his back and get the crucial buckets when they need them.
Jonathan Powell Jonathan Powell 6'5" | SG Centerville | 2024 State #164 Nation OH (2024) Centerville
Wednesday was my first look at Powell with Centerville after transferring over from C-J. Now 6-foot-6, Powell has an incredible frame on him and fantastic athleticism. Can make the big perimeter shots when they are needed and was doing so against an athletic Ferndale team. Powell knocked down 4 3’s in the first half off catch-and-shoot in the Elks win. Powell continues to see HM programs come calling especially with the duo he forms with Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH .
Matt DeBrosse Matt DeBrosse 6'0" | SG Mason | 2024 State OH (2024) Mason
DeBrosse exemplified what I am looking for in a GMC guard. The lefty has a certain toughness to his game, almost a “don’t back down” mentality and took contact to West Carrollton. On a day where the Comets were without Ben Menker Ben Menker 6'5" | SF Mason | 2024 State OH (2024), DeBrosse led the scoring along with Jack Ullom Jack Ullom 6'5" | SF Mason | 2023 State OH as the 5-foot-11 guard hit some key shots off-ball for the Comets. DeBrosse is a great glue guy, showing good footwork on the perimeter and defending either guard positions well.
Javen Vaughn (2024) West Carrollton
Vaughn’s game does a lot of talking. While standing only 5-foot-9, Vaughn brings energy to both ends of the floor and specifically gives the Pirates a pass-first option in the backcourt. He read defenders and hit the roll man multiple times for the Pirates in their halfcourt sets. Has shown in the past he can knock down shots on the perimeter. Vaughn likely will be leaned on for West Carrollton this upcoming season.
