Jamarion Batemon Jamarion Batemon 6'3" | CG Milwaukee Academy of Science | 2025 State #174 Nation WI – 2025 – SG – Milwaukee Academy of Science
This is one of the best shooters in the state without a doubt. Batemon went for 28 points in a tough loss to Oshkosh North, including eight 3-pointers. Batemon heats up like an oven and can stay hot. The 6-foot-2 guard gets down the floor in a hurry and has no problem letting it fly early in a possession — in fact, that’s when he’s at his best. When he’s able to get defenders off their feet with a pump fake, Batemon has some length and strength to attack the hole. However, the outside shooting is where Batemon makes his hay. He sets his feet extremely quick and can score with a hand in his face.
Brogan Finnegan Brogan Finnegan 6'4" | SG Waterford | 2024 State WI – 2024 – SG – Waterford
Finnegan had 26 points in a loss to Dominican. The game was really up and down and very transition-oriented, which allowed Finnegan to display some sneaky athleticism above the rim. Finnegan has some really good positional size at 6-foot-4 and shoots it efficiently from downtown. With Dominican pressuring up and down the floor, liked how Finnegan made himself available to teammates by leaking down the floor or coming back to the ball. That allowed Waterford to get a lot of easy stuff against the press.
Solomon Garrison Solomon Garrison 5'10" | PG Homestead | 2023 State WI – 2023 – PG – Homestead
Garrison posted 17 points in a tight win over Wauwatosa West. The speedy 5-foot-9 guard can really go with the basketball. He’s outstanding at getting defenders guessing by manipulating them with his eyes or hesitation dribbles before blowing by to the rim. Garrison is not an imposing athlete, but you need your help-side defenders to be in position, because if a lane opens up, Garrison is gone. Garrison isn’t a plus shooter, but he rose to the occasion with a big dagger late in the game to all but seal the win. A true floor general that runs the show, makes winning plays, gets his teammates involved and shots in rhythm, Garrison’s just a guy you want with his hands on the wheel.
Juan Guerrero Hernandez Juan Guerrero Hernandez 6'3" | CG Grafton | 2025 State #189 Nation WI – 2025 – G – Grafton
Really high on this young guard. The first thing you notice is the length. Guerrero-Hernandez has arms that go down to his knees. That really helps him handle the ball explosively for 6-foot-3. Guerrero-Hernandez showed some really big time flashes when he put the ball on the deck and showcased some ankle-breaking handles. Outside shot is going to need some work. Guerrero-Hernandez is more downhill, rim-oriented and will mix in a stop and pop jumper here and there. However, the talent, upside, and playmaking ability make Guerrero-Hernandez a top 10 prospect in this 2025 class and he’s still not even close to his ceiling.
Michael McNabb Michael McNabb 6'4" | CG Grafton | 2024 State WI – 2024 – G – Grafton
Nobody had a bigger day on Sunday than McNabb. The junior guard registered a pair of 36-point efforts. You always look for guys that play at their own pace and few do that better than McNabb. He’s always under control, you can’t speed him up, and he plays mostly mistake-free basketball. He’s not a blow-by guard, but McNabb has a knack for still being able to get by people, especially defenders who think they can get into him and make McNabb uncomfortable. Best pump fake in the state too. Watching McNabb, he makes me want to leave my feet and I’m not even playing. Defensively, McNabb doesn’t get enough credit either. He’s got a knack for creating turnovers and sensing when a ballhandler is being sloppy or turns their back to him. On Sunday, also saw McNabb guard players from 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-7.
Amare Posey Amare Posey 6'2" | SG Milwaukee Carmen | 2023 State WI – 2023 – SF – Carmen Northwest
Amare Posey Amare Posey 6'2" | SG Milwaukee Carmen | 2023 State WI had 24 points in a loss to Grafton. This is a big body wing that can really shoot it from 3-point range. Posey is a floor spacer that plays a little bigger than his 6-foot-3 frame. When he does play around the rim, Posey uses that strength really well to get into people and take away their leaping ability.
Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI – 2025 – C – Wauwatosa West
Rogers really looked terrific physically. Down almost 40 pounds, Rogers now has a college ready body and can dominate a game from the block. Obviously, the measurables, size, and athletic ability are all exciting. He’s going to get a lot of offers based on that alone. But there’s more to Rogers as well. 1-on-1 on the block, he’s very patient and starting to develop more moves with his back to the basket. Rogers has some scary good hands at times, able to reel in passes away from his body, sometimes with one hand. Underrated passer too. Rogers is sometimes too unselfish to a fault, but able to shovel into a teammate or hit the high-low angle with the right touch. Defensively, you’re not getting anything around the rim when Rogers is on the floor. He’s going to win via a block/alter at a very high rate and force opponents to play from the outside. Already holding five high major offers, Rogers is potentially a five-star prospect in this class.
Maxwell Tutas Maxwell Tutas 6'3" | CG Sheboygan North | 2023 State WI – 2023 – G – Sheboygan North
Tutas had 25 points in a loss to Neenah. The senior guard is a silent assassin that just plays. He doesn’t make a peep on the floor — just kicks your butt and goes down to the other end. Tutas has a noticeable toughness about him as well. There were times where you just weren’t going to deny him from the rim. Tutas has a deadly spin move when he gets two feet in the paint as well. Tutas can finish with either hand, take a bump at the rim, and adjust his release to avoid shot blockers as well. Think this is a nice, perhaps very strong pickup at the Division 3 level, perhaps Division 2 if this type of play keeps up in July and so on. Probably due for another bump in the rankings after the summer.
