Continue ReadingA lot of hidden gems have begun to show us that the work they’ve been putting in when no one was watching is beginning to pay off. We will talk about kids who are continuing their summer jumps, as we make our way to the halfway point of AAU season, with the dead period beginning next week.
Jaxon Prunty Jaxon Prunty 6'6" | SF Lexington | 2024 State SC (Team United 2024) 6’6″ Shooting Guard
The Providence Day rising junior has shown flashes of elite scoring so far this summer. Already known as a three-point shooter, he has become an improving distributor of the ball as well. Flashes of athleticism will make the second half of the AAU season a must-see for the Providence Day guard. A crafty finisher around the rim that has become a better scorer at all three levels throughout this season. Still growing, he was just given four stars and looks to build on not only his impressive offensive arsenal, but his defensive approach could be what takes his game to the next level.
Zach Wiggins(Team CP3 2025)6’5″ Shooting Guard
The rising sophomore has a well-rounded game that is easily transferable to the next level. With impressive size and a solid wingspan, he shows the versatility he can have inside and out. He has impressive footwork for his age and is good at reading defenders when attacking the rim. He has a good feel as to where and how he can get to his spots and finishes off the glass constantly. A stoic player with above-average athleticism. He will have a big second half to the summer, expect him to put a lot of people on notice at Peach Jam this year.
Serge Cvetkovic(Team EAT 2023) 6’7″ Stretch Forward
Serge is one of the best shooters and best-kept secrets within the 2023 class. He can score at all three levels, a sharpshooter with an impressive stroke. He has become an even more confident shooter and continues to build on his game. A hell of a pick and pop threat that has shown that he can sell a pump fake and has shown an improving ability as a playmaker as well. His defense will take his game to the next level, he has good size and has shown his high IQ as well. Understanding when to make the extra pass. College teams should take note of how much Serge has and will continue to improve.
Trajan Thompson(Team Curry 2025) 6’5″ Shooting Guard
You cannot overlook a player like Thompson, an improving slasher that can finish with the best of them in his class. He has an array of moves when slashing to the rim and in the post as well. Uses his quick hands in the passing lanes to create havoc and convert those opportunities into scoring situations. He finishes through contact well and has good body control. Just when you think he is too deep in-between defenders he will surprise you and dish the ball off to a teammate for the finish. As he continues to play and is seen, I believe he will become a well-known name in the State by the time the next high school season start.
