Tyler Haney Tyler Haney 6'1" | CG Sun Prairie | 2025 State WI Scores 26 Despite Injury For Win:
United Hoops got to play in the A-Pool for the first time this spring after cruising past lower-level teams. Tyler Haney Tyler Haney 6'1" | CG Sun Prairie | 2025 State WI was explosive from the start with 9 quick points. I saw a little bit of everything from Haney throughout the game. Hit several shots from deep, finished through contact, and even a post-fadeaway. A scary moment happened in the closing seconds of the first half when Haney went down with an ankle injury. With 18 points already, he returned late in the second half to score eight more and lead his team to a close win over Wisconsin Blizzard. While Haney was out, Tavian Crawford (Sun Prairie, WI) stepped up as he hit two midrange jumpers and played some stellar defense. He also found teammates open running down the lane. For the Blizzard, forward Pryce Pregoire was hot early with a three to start and some baskets inside. He played great on the glass as he grabbed a couple offensive boards and blocked a shot. Forward Bryce Borowicz also played well inside. Scoring ten points and playing physically in the paint.
Polischuk Scores 23 as 15U Illinois Attack Beats Arena Basketball Club:
Most of my attention this hour was at the United Hoops-Wisconsin blizzard game. But I also got to see chunks of this game. Vova Polischuk (Neuqua Valley) got off to a hot start. Although more of a big man, he hit three 3-pointers early to start the game. He finished the half with 16 points and four three-pointers. He did a good job down low too with some strong rebounds and impressive post-moves. Polischuk finished the game with 23 points in an 83-71 win.
16U Minnesota Heat Comes Back to Defeat Wisconsin Academy:
Wisconsin academy was the team in control first. 2024 F Ben Henderson (Sauk Prairie) showed tons of versatility and athleticism early for Wisconsin Academy. He grabbed some tough rebounds with authority and played quick in transition to start. His defense created problems early for the Heat with contested shots and a steal leading to a fast break dunk. After beginning the 2nd half with a euro-step finish, his team fell flat. The Heat took control of the game from a full team effort. Everyone contributed their own way as they outscored Wisconsin Academy 34-17 in the 2nd half. Will Lawrence is a small, yet explosive, guard for the Heat who impressed me late. He had a terrific coast-to-coast and-one finish and made great plays with his passing and ball handling. Nobody on MN Heat had double-figures.
Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI , 15U Wisconsin Playground Beat WI Crusaders:
Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI (Wauwatosa West) made his presence in this one felt from the opening tip. The 6’10” big man swatted back the first shot-attempt of the game. Guard Jake Hansen Jake Hansen 6'1" | SG Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #331 Nation WI (Wauwatosa West) scored five quick points to give WI Playground an early lead, but the Crusaders didn’t quit. Forward Oskar Kangas Oskar Kangas 6'6" | PF Iron Mountain | 2025 WI (Iron Mountain) started things off with a nice basket over Rogers off a put-back rebound. Wing Keegan Vankauwenberg (Kaukana) really got going late in the first half with a chase-down block and a post-fade score. He then got hot from deep, knocking down three straight three-pointers. He also had two steals leading to fast-break dunks for 16 first-half points. Rogers closed out the first half with an and-one jam. Later in the game, TJ Stuttley (Onalaska) got hot. An impressive and-one layup with 6 minutes left started things off. Made an excellent pass to the corners twice for open 3’s to extend a late lead. Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI ended things with a fast break jam as Playground won 59-57.
