After seeing many of the top players in the high school season, I’ve gotten the chance to see even more players so far in the spring. In this article we’ll be talking about the top big men in the state. Lots of bigs take a while to develop but these prospects are already showing their potential. There’s also a few more centers on our watch list that we want to see more game action before ranking them but show good potential.
Kieran Granville-Britten Kieran Granville-Britten 6'7" | C Princeton | 2025 State OH , 6’7 C Cincinnati Taft 2025 – Bates Fundamentals 15 U: A state champion as a freshman, Britten was very impressive all high school season for Taft and has continued to play well for Bates fundamentals. I like how productive Britten is for such a young prospect, he played most of the game for Taft and Bates when I watch him. Britten has an advanced body for his age with the strength to bully defenders his age. It will be interesting to see if Britten continues to grow height wise or expand his game on the perimeter. Right now, he’s by far the most productive big in the state.
Charlie Uhl Charlie Uhl 6'7" | C Kettering Alter | 2025 State OH , 6’7 C Kettering Alter 2025 – Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 15 U: Uhl didn’t get the varsity action that Britten enjoyed on an upperclassman led regional champion Alter squad but could be poised for a breakout Sophomore season. Uhl has legit size at 6’8 and was an active rebounder when I watched him with Midwest Basketball Club. Uhl showed off the ability to space the floor and knock down shots from the outside.
Gabe Clemmons Gabe Clemmons 6'10" | C Fairfield | 2025 State OH , 6’8 C Fairfield 2025 – Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 15 U: Clemmons is a guy who in warm-ups for Fairfield popped with his size and as just a freshman, there’s a lot of upside with Clemmons on the basketball court. Clemmons is a bit further away than some of the other bigs, but it’s best to be patient in the development of young post prospects. Clemmons has shown the ability to make the occasional post move and plays hard with his bigger frame. I expect Clemmons to be much improved from the summer to the high school season if he continues to work hard in the off-season.
