We will take a look at the top performers from each age group, looking here at some of the 16U standouts.
If you’d like to watch the event, all of the games were streamed and are available for playback on the CBG Live Network.
Tyler Bailey Tyler Bailey 6'3" | PG Oak Hill Academy | 2024 VA | 6’2” CG | Team Loaded VA 2024
Bailey is going to have to be the go-to scorer for this 16U team to be successful this year, luckily is built for it as the 6’2” combo guard knows how to get buckets, especially with the ball in his hands. He’s a good shooter from deep off the bounce and gets into it quickly whether it’s when a defender goes under a screen or off of the breakdown, he’s strong when he slashes through the lane and can finish in traffic and he has an alpha mentality as a scorer and wants to be the go-to guy.
Kenard Wyche | 5’9” PG | Team Loaded VA 2024
Wyche is coming off of a breakout sophomore year where he was named 1st Team All State and helped lead Varina to a Class 4 state championship, and he’s an absolute game changer when he steps in with his tenacity defensively. We often say someone can “guard 94 feet” but Wyche really can as he gets under ball handlers and turns them multiple times in the backcourt, he’s an absolute pest with good hands and moves his feet well and offensively he can set the table as a playmaker and can score it when he needs to.
Emmanuel Okitondo Emmanuel Okitondo 6'8" | PF Combine Academy | 2024 State NC | 6’8” F | Team Durant 2024
Okitondo has been on our radar since the eighth grade and he’s really starting to round his game out now and add more versatility with his 6’8” frame which makes him a walking mismatch. The forward is a mobile player who can run the floor and showed he can put it on the deck in transition, he’s an athletic finisher and has become more explosive and he has great potential defensively to guard multiple positions.
Brandon Cummings | 6’3” WG | Team Durant 2024
Cummings was fantastic for Durant, as the Pittsburgh native willed them a win over Team Loaded by scoring the final 11 points for them as they came back from down 8 with just over 30 seconds remaining. The 6’3” off guard is crafty and unpredictable as he can attack or stop on a dime and knows how to create space, he can make tough shots from multiple levels and he showed takeover ability and a willingness to take and make shots in crunch time situations.
Jake Williams Jake Williams 6'4" | SG Sidwell Friends | 2024 State MD | 6’3” WG | DC Premier 2024
Everyone needs a shooter, and Williams is as good as they come with his ability to knock it down from deep and get hot and fill it up in bunches. The 6’3” wing works well off the ball to get open and has deep range and a quick release, he has confidence in his ability to let it fly and he can get hot quickly and knock down shots in succession and he can attack closeouts and handle in transition where he’s an unselfish decision maker too.
Anthony Nimani | 6’2” PG | We R 1 2024
Nimani was the top dog on a talented We R 1 16U group, as the 6’2” guard can flat out score it in bunches and run the show as well. He plays with good pace and knows how to get to spots to create shots for himself and others, he can separate off the bounce and drill the contested midrange shot and he has great body control and finesse around the rim to score over bigger defenders.
Cole Bowser | 6’4” WG | Prospect U 2025
Bowser started as a freshman at Colgan HS in Prince William County, and he showed this weekend he has a very bright future with his long frame that’s likely still growing along with his ability to really fill it up. He’s a good athlete who moves well and gets off for the floor explosively, he can really knock down shots from deep both off the kick-outs and on the move, he can put it on the deck and get to the rim and he put up big numbers playing up against 16U competition.
