I viewed six 15U teams and was looking for some 2025 new players since I will be releasing my 2025 rankings on Monday.
I found a few new players and saw some that I haven’t seen in awhile. Two of the games were extremely competitive and the young players showed upside for the future.
Here were the 15U Standouts:
Cameron Holmes Cameron Holmes 6'5" | SF Millennium | 2026 State AZ Millennium (TMP Elite 15)
A long and bigger guard/wing who handles the ball well for his size. He has deep 3pt range off the catch or pull and he is a long strider to the rim. He does tend to favor his left hand but it rarely matters. He will bounce off of defenders and score through contact using his thicker frame. He hesitates and changes speeds well to get to the rim. He will defend multiple positions with his length, size and strength. He was phenomenal with 39 pts on the night in their 75-72 win.
Jacob Webber Jacob Webber 6'6" | SF Kearney (NE) | 2026 NE undecided (AZ Venom 15)
A long 8th grader wing can shoot it. He moved in from Indiana and looks to have a bright future. He has a very soft touch in the lane and he can pull-up off the dribble and rise up. He is a very good passer up the court and he will rebound in his area. He will be a three level scorer in HS with his 3pt shooting stroke leading the way.
DeNali McNeal DeNali McNeal 6'3" | CG Canyon View | 2025 State AZ Canyon View (AZ Venom 15)
A long combo guard has a nice handle. He uses hesitations well to get into the lane to go along with a crossover. He scores it well through contact and is very crafty. He can pull-up off the dribble and hit from mid-range. His length and lateral quickness allow him to defend at a high level, which may be his best trait. He gets to the spot before his opponents and/or cuts him off. He has good court vision too as he will make plays in the post and he will drive and kick it.
Mekhi Grant Mekhi Grant 6'0" | CG Eduprize | 2025 State AZ Phhoenix Prep (TMP Elite 15)
A thicker framed guard with a nice handle. He can catch and shoot from the three with deep range. He can post up inside and is a good help defender and on-ball defender with his length and strength. He gets downhill fairly well with the use of changing speeds and a deceptive burst.
Matt Delgado Matt Delgado 6'5" | SG Boulder Creek | 2026 State AZ Horizon (AZ Gremlins 15U)
A long and lean incoming freshman is a two-way player. He can defend the 2-4 for his team with his length, IQ and lateral quickness plus score it inside and out. He can crossover into a 3 and hit jumpers from the high post. He also will score it with cuts to the cup and knowing where to find holes in the defense. He is extremely unselfish and will make passes to teammates to move the ball like you should.
James Steward James Steward 6'8" | PF Marcos De Niza | 2025 State AZ Corona del Sol (Factory 15)
A long shot blocker is a fluid mover and runner. He protects the rim well and tracks the ball like you should. He can seal his man to post up but is a tad raw with his offense currently. His free throw touch is decent and he rebounds the ball easy as he gets off the floor quickly.
Elijah Brush Elijah Brush 6'4" | SF Hamilton | 2025 State AZ Chandler (AZ Gremlins 15U)
A long wing forward who is a catch and shoot-3pt shooter. He thinks the game from the neck up and passes the ball well. He moves without the ball, cuts and gets to open spots on the court. He rebounds well in his area and shows some toughness to defend inside.
Cullen Schreiner Cullen Schreiner 6'6" | SF Basha | 2025 State AZ Basha (AZ Gremlins 15U)
A long and lean baby faced young shooter with upside. He is a catch and shoot gunner with long arms and a pretty touch. He moves without the ball and relocates to open spots on the floor. He uses his length on the defensive end.
Justin Garcia Justin Garcia 5'11" | PG Basha | 2025 State AZ Basha (AZ Gremlins 15U)
A high IQ scoring lead guard who can score plus facilitate. He plays at a good pace and plays a smart floor game. He can hit the catch-3 and can drive it. He will give a hard ball fake and shoot it with a 1-dribble pull-up.
Zayden Canchano Zayden Canchano 5'8" | CG Willow Canyon | 2025 State AZ Willow Canyon (AZ Venom 15)
A combo guard who can catch and shoot from the three and he is a good passer. He uses hesitation dribbles and will pass the ball up the court to teammates. He threaded a couple passes in traffic.
Tayt Lucas Tayt Lucas 6'3" | CG Butler | 2025 PA Mesquite (AZ Gremlins 15U)
A strong combo guard with good skill. He has a crisp pull-up and he is a good passer. He plays with a high IQ and toughness and don’t be surprised if he slides into the starting-5 the next season.
Others
AJ Anderson AJ Anderson 6'0" | PG Paradise Valley | 2025 State AZ Corona del Sol (Factory 15)
A smart point guard can score it and make plays. He gets downhill with a quick burst and he is a nifty passer. He can shoot it from the perimeter and has the floater game.
Colin Faris Colin Faris 6'2" | CG North Canyon | 2025 State AZ North Canyon (Southwest Rebels 15)
A heady combo guard can handle it well and he can shoot it with a stronger base. He may get some varsity time this season.
Dario Vella Dario Vella 6'3" | CG North Canyon | 2025 State AZ North Canyon (Southwest Rebels 15)
A scoring guard with a polished 3pt stroke. He cuts without the ball and he can drive it a little, but is best off the catch. Like Faris, Dario may see some varsity minutes this year.
