<p>#2 Jefferson HS (Shenadoah Junction) held off a very gritty Cabell Midland HS team 73-72 to remain perfect on the season. The Cougars (23-0) were led in scoring by freshman guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1310623" first="Jamari" last="Jenkins"]</strong> with 23 points. Jenkins connected on 5 three pointers while playing the game with so much poise on the floor. Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1310625" first="Cameron" last="Johnson"]</strong> came to play and finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the win. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977626" first="Dominic" last="Schmidt"]</strong> came up big today for the Knights by scoring 29 points. Schmidt connected on 4 three pointers and was really able to keep the Knights in the game. Senior and older brother <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977577" first="Chandler" last="Schmidt"]</strong> finished his career with 19 points. Schmidt ended his career with 1,909 career points. Chandler a multi-sport athlete with great academics will have to decide a college decision sometime down the road. </p>
<p>Jefferson HS and Cabell Midland HS (Ona) are on opposite ends of the state of each other and roughly 365 miles - just over a 7-hour drive. </p>

<p>#3 Parkersburg South HS had little troubles with Wheeling Park HS today in a 72-46 win. Senior left-handed guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1233988" first="Ashton" last="Mooney"]</strong> and sophomore <strong>Jackson Smith</strong> led the Patriots (21-3) with 17 points apiece. Smith was able to connect on 5 three pointers today.</p>

<p>Junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1409730" first="Cyrus" last="Traugh"]</strong> finished with 14 points. Traugh is a great all-around athlete and last fall recorded 106 receptions on the football field. </p>
<p>Freshman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408521" first="Aiden" last="Davis"]</strong> was a bright spot today for the Patriots (16-10). Davis finished the game with 16 points. </p>
<p>#1 Morgantown HS blitzed Musselman HS (Inwood) 71-33. The Mohigans led 47-16 at the halftime break. <strong>Gage Brooks</strong> led the way with 21 points, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051564" first="Alec" last="Poland"]</strong> 14 points and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1310628" first="Sha-ron" last="Young"]</strong> 11 points. Morgantown HS moves to (21-4) on the season. </p>
<p>The nightcap last night came down to the wire in the 4th meeting of the season between George Washington HS and South Charleston HS. The #4 Black Eagles evened up the season series at (2-2) this year after winning 53-49 to advance to the semifinals. Sophomore point guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1409492" first="Wayne" last="Harris"]</strong> finished the night with 25 points and 4 assists. Harris got the ball into the paint all night long and really excels in the transition game while attacking the cup. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977629" first="Bryson" last="Smith"]</strong> added 17 points while connecting on 4-6 from downtown and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1409496" first="Mondrell" last="Dean"]</strong> chipped in with 7 points and 9 rebounds. The Black Eagles move onto (21-5) on the season and a date in the semifinals. The Black Eagles hadn’t been in the State Tourney since 2014. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1051566" first="Hunter" last="Castleberry"]</strong> was perfect all night long with his play for the George Washington HS Patriots (19-7). Castleberry finished with 17 points while going 6-6 from the floor and made 5 three pointers. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977598" first="Taran" last="Fitzpatrick"]</strong> was just around the ball all night long and finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="977628" first="Ben" last="Nicol"]</strong> a left-handed forward finished with 8 points. </p>
