About Jamari
Expert Analysis
Scott Strode | Prep Hoops Scout
Jenkins is one of the most entertaining and fun players to watch in WV. He does an exceptional job of pushing the ball in transition as well as being the floor general in half court sets. His overall best asset is to recognize breakdowns in offensive flow and create his own shots which he knocks down at every level consistently.

is a “must see” for basketball fans. One of the most exciting players in WV and one of the best. Already holding a D1 offer (Stony Brook), Jenkins has won every award and accolade possible in WV with the exception of PoY. Currently enrolled at Goretti HS (out of state) we expect Jenkins could be back in WV for his senior season due to a rumored school closure at Goretti. Nonetheless we’ll continue to cover the WV based/native.

holds a current offer from Stony Brook, a Division I in NY. Jenkins just made the move back from Goretti HS to Jefferson HS in WV. So far Stony Brook is the only official D1 offer, but likely not the last.

Jefferson has some returning rotation pieces in the 2025 class and Jenkins is a quick guard who can impact the game with his dribble drive game. Jenkins scored 14 points in a state quarterfinal upset of George Washington as a Sophomore.

Jenkins surely makes the Cougars offense go while on the floor. The Cougars came into the Class AAAA and upset #2 George Washington HS 52-47 on the opening day. Jamari really likes to use the crossover dribble at times to race by defenders on the way to the cup. Jenkins was able to work the mid-range game at times today along with a nice pull-up game. Jamari really likes to work the floater in the lane from time to time. Jenkins really is the floor general for the Cougars and likes to play the game at 94 feet at times.

Jenkins is great at controlling the offense. When in control, he is either looking for his shot or trying to get his teammates involved. He sets the tempo for the game and is really shifty with the ball in his hands. He can get to the rim or step out side to shoot. His defense on the perimeter is spot on. He is able to move with his lateral quickness to stay in front of his man.
