<p>#1 Shady Springs HS the defending Class AAA state champions had little problems in the first round defeating North Marion HS 79-45. The Tigers (24-1) have now won 21 straight games. The Tigers had great balance all game long placing 5 players in double figures. Sophomore <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408804" first="Ammar" last="Maxwell"]</strong> led the charge with 18 points. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977630" first="Braden" last="Chapman"]</strong> added 17 points,<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="1408801" first="Jaedan" last="Holstein"]</strong> finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977639" first="Cole" last="Chapman"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408802" first="Cameron" last="Manns"]</strong> both finished with 11 points apiece. Cole finished with 11 assists and 7 steals. The Tigers picked up 25 steals tonight in the lopsided win. </p>
<p>Junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408803" first="Harley" last="Sickles"]</strong> an undersized post finished with 17 points for the Huskies. North Marion HS was playing without the services of senior<strong> Tariq</strong> <strong>Miller</strong> and junior <strong>Preston Williams</strong>. Miller is headed off to Glenville State next season to play football. </p>

<p>#3 Fairmont HS Polar Bears defeated a feisty group from Herbert Hoover HS (Clendenin) 56-47. The Polar Bears (22-3) were led in scoring by both <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408515" first="Desean" last="Goode"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1310639" first="Zycheus" last="Dobbs"]</strong> with 15 points apiece. Goode a junior forward recorded 10 rebounds in the win. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977596" first="Eric" last="Smith"]</strong> a Miami (OH) Football signee added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the win for the Polar Bears. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408504" first="Devin" last="Hatfield"]</strong> an University of Charleston football signee finished with 10 points in his last game for the Huskies. Hatfield shot just (3-16) from the floor. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408520" first="Dane" last="Hatfield"]</strong> just a freshman scored 20 points and 9 rebounds in his debut at the Class AAA State Tourney. Dane scored the first 15 points of the game for the Huskies. Teammate <strong>Eli Robertson</strong> finished with 10 points. The Huskies finished the season at (19-8). </p>
<p>#7 Scott HS (Madison) upset #2 Logan HS 65-63 at the buzzer to advance to the semifinals. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1408523" first="Reece" last="Carden"]</strong> dropped a floater with just over 1 second to play to give the Skyhawks victory. Carden finished the night with 26 points on 11-25 shooting while adding 7 rebounds. </p>
<p><strong>Jaxon Cogar</strong> led the Wildcats (23-3) with 18 points while<strong> Garrett Williamson</strong> added 17 points in the loss.</p>
<p>Wheeling Central Catholic won in the nightcap over Grafton HS 73-63 to advance to the semifinals on Friday. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1409660" first="Quinton" last="Burlenski"] </strong>came up big all game long for the Maroon Knights in the opening round win. Burlenski scored 22 points while dropping 5 three pointers. Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977619" first="Michael" last="Toepfer"]</strong> finished the game with 15 points, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977589" first="Ryan" last="Reasbeck"]</strong> 14 points and <strong>Leyton Toepfer</strong> chipped in with 13 points. </p>
<p>Senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977609" first="Ryan" last="Maier"]</strong> finished with 21 points and 6 assists in his last game for Grafton HS. Senior <strong>Tanner Moats</strong> added 15 points in the defeat. </p>
