probably doesn’t get enough credit for the job he’s done. The D2 recruit and do everything guard for Wheeling Central has put together another great season while leading his somewhat young squad to another state tournament berth. Burlenski is a true combo-guard in that he’s very skilled facilitating and has great court vision and judgement of tempo and possesses great court IQ. Burlenski regularly hits big shots when needed while taking on tough assignments defensively. Look for Quinton to get a couple more D2 offers soon after the state tournament and make a decision quickly.

Coaches have raved about his great feel for the game and defensive effort. is what I would call a “takeover” player. He has the ability to control the game at point guard or move over to a shooting guard position and fill the role as a primary scorer. To us, his most impressive skill is keeping everyone involved in the offense and ability to distribute and get scorers in position. He will be one of the toughest small school matchups for opponents of any level. Defensively he is the anchor for Central’s defense and will be counted on to take the opposition’s toughest player. Burlenski has a D2 offer from Wheeling University in his hometown.

Quentin Burlenski is a 6’2″ point guard from Wheeling County Catholic High School in West Virginia. Burlenski is a high-level guard that can score the ball at all 3 levels of the court. He is a good shooter that can spread the floor with his shot making or is good at penetrating the paint, drawing the defense to him and hitting the open man. Burlenski is a good defender and moves his feet well to stay in front of the opposing player on defense. Burlenski will be counted on by Wheeling Central to lead them on the court and improve his numbers in the 2023-2024 season.

Burlenski is surely the leader on this young Maroon Knights roster. Quinton has a nice pull-jumper game to go with the ability to score the ball from all different levels. Burlenski came into the State Tourney averaging 19 ppg this season and finished with 18 points in the opening round loss to Bluefield HS.
Quinton never looks to force his shot and seems to have good shooting mechanics with his follow through.
