These four are quickly becoming household names in West Virginia High School basketball and are on the fast track to college recruitment. Davis & Elkins coaching staff has made it a priority to seek home grown talent to continue to build on their winning culture.
Quinton Burlenski Quinton Burlenski 6’2″ | SG Wheeling Central Catholic | 2024 State WV of Wheeling Central Catholic has dazzled many a fan and coaches alike. His court vision and presence alone make him a great high school player, but his scoring power puts him over the top. Coaches have raved about his great feel for the game and defensive effort. Burlenski with a current Wheeling University offer will soon receive other D2 offers in the coming months and likely have a tough decision in the end. Great problem to have for one of the best guards in WV.
TD Bodkins TD Bodkins 6’5″ | SF Philip Barbour | 2025 State WV is quickly becoming a player of interest to several schools. This dual sport star athlete is poised to start receiving college offers in the coming year (possible football offers as well) and crank up his game to the next level. Already on several D3 radars, Bodkins performance at D&E could lead to some D2 campus visits as well.

Clay Robertson Clay Robertson 6’2″ | SG Spring Valley | 2025 State WV has had one of the best 10 month runs a college prospect could have. Bursting onto the WV high school basketball scene at a school (Spring Valley) that is widely known for football, Robertson lit up opponents and put college coaches on his radar quickly. Soon thereafter Robertson heated up several gyms during AAU season on the highly regarded Big Shots circuit, and now wrapping up the offseason with high praise from coaches of one of the MEC’s best programs. Robertson will quickly see D2 interest in the next few months and snowball into a long run of offers. With his skill level, athleticism and time to grow, who knows where his recruitment could go from there.
Will Taylor Will Taylor 6’1″ | PG The Linsly School | 2025 State WV is a dazzling talent from Linsly Academy in Wheeling WV. Taylor who plays for the former D1 head coach Dave Wojcik, his development is sure to be steady and structured to be a collegiate player. Certainly great to see alot of work during the spring/summer offseason payoff with some recognition by camp coaches. We’d anticipate D3 coaches be in pursuit by late season or next off season.
