As we know, South Florida is a big net for movers.
Here is another crop of players that made an impact this season.
Jimel Lane Jimel Lane 6'7" | PF Palmetto | 2022 State FL – Miami Palmetto
A pretty easy selection here with 2022 Jimel Lane Jimel Lane 6'7" | PF Palmetto | 2022 State FL . The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 24.4 points and ten boards per game for Miami Palmetto. As a junior, Lane averaged 19.9 points and 5.7 boards per contest for Mater Academy Charter. Overall, he has been one of the more versatile offensive playmakers in recent seasons. Lane holds offers from Barry and Stetson.
Mister Dean Mister Dean 6'4" | SF Southridge | 2023 State FL / Koree Cotton Koree Cotton 6'4" | SF Souhtridge | 2023 State FL – Miami Southridge
2023’s Mister Dean Mister Dean 6'4" | SF Southridge | 2023 State FL and Koree Cotton Koree Cotton 6'4" | SF Souhtridge | 2023 State FL are top tier talents in Miami-Dade County. The 6-foot-5 Dean and 6-foot-6 Cotton combined to average 37.3 points per game. The former South Miami Pair helped Southridge to a 16-9 record. Dean holds an offer from Bryant while Cotton holds an offer Florida Gulf Coast.
Brenen Lorient Brenen Lorient 6'8" | PF Calvary Christian | 2022 State FL – Calvary Christian Academy
2022 Brenen Lorient Brenen Lorient 6'8" | PF Calvary Christian | 2022 State FL proved he could play with one of the best teams in the state. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 8.8, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game for the Class 3A state champions. Lorient previously played at Ocala Forest where he averaged 16.7 points, 8.2 boards and 1.4 blocks per game as a junior. He scored in double-figures in nine games for Calvary. Furthermore, Lorient had a double-double against Mater Lakes Academy with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He also had a six block performance against Minnesota Prep Academy while adding nine points. Lorient is headed to Florida Atlantic. His best basketball is still well ahead of him.
Jaylen Black – Stranahan
2022 Jaylen Black was one of Stranahan’s floor commanders this season. The 5-foot-9 guard averaged 7.4 points, 4.5 assists and two steals per game for the Class 5A state champions. The Blanche Ely transfer scored in double-figures in eight contests. In addition, Black dished out five or more assists in 11 games.
Jordyn Kee Jordyn Kee 6'5" | CG Coranado | 2024 NV – Dillard
2024 Jordyn Kee Jordyn Kee 6'5" | CG Coranado | 2024 NV had a strong season for Dillard. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 14.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game across 22 contests. Moreover, Kee scored in double-figures in 19 of 22 games. He dropped a season-high 26 points and added five boards against Coral Springs. Kee previously spent time at Westlake Prep and Archbishop McCarthy. He is an electric athlete with upside.
Rickey Ballard Rickey Ballard 6'6" | CG Westminster | 2022 State FL – Westminster Academy
2022 Rickey Ballard Rickey Ballard 6'6" | CG Westminster | 2022 State FL was a versatile weapon for Westminster Academy. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged eight points and six boards per game while shooting 67 percent from the floor. Furthermore, Ballard scored in double-figures in seven games. Against Miami Columbus, he scored 15 points and hit three 3-pointers while shooting 5-of-7 overall from the field. He previously played at Sagemont. Ballard recently committed to Lynn University. He helped Westminster Academy to a 22-7 record.
Adren Roberts Adren Roberts 6'5" | SG Somerset Canyons | 2022 State FL – North Broward Prep
2022 Adren Roberts Adren Roberts 6'5" | SG Somerset Canyons | 2022 State FL was an offensive/defensive playmaker this season for the Eagles. The 6-foot-5 wing averaged 9.2 points, 5.5 boards and 1.2 blocks per game. Roberts scored in double-figures in 13 contests and dropped a season-high 17 points against Mater Lakes Academy. He also hit two or more 3-pointers in seven games. Against 2A finalist Sagemont, Roberts had 15 points and nine boards. On defense, Roberts’ high-level athleticism recorded 31 blocks. I thought he got better over the course of his season. He previously played at Somerset Canyons
