NCHSAA 1A East Final Preview

The NCHSAA State Playoffs are approaching the Final Four this weekend as the Eastern and Western Regionals headline the Saturday schedule. Here’s a preview of the NCHSAA 1A East Final.

Chatham Charter (32-1) vs. Wilson Prep (22-5) - 2 PM

Wilson Prep looks to make it back-to-back trips to the NCHSAA 1A State Championship game with top-seeded East seed Chatham Charter as their final obstacle in the East Region final. The Tigers are the underdogs with five losses under their belt led by Christen Battle Christen Battle 5'10" | PG Wilson Prep | 2022 State NC , David Ellis, Daidien Sutton Daidien Sutton 6'4" | SF Hunt | 2024 State NC and Brandon Anderson Brandon Anderson 6'3" | PG Wilson Prep | 2024 State NC . Battle is their lead guard while Ellis and Sutton have held their own on the interior. Anderson has been the X-Factor after posting 19 points, six assists and three steals in their victory over North Edgecombe. He’ll be looked upon to be the spark against Chatham Charter on Saturday.

The Chatham Charter Knights haven’t lost a game since Dec. 3 as they come into the East Region final with quite the momentum. They’re a squad led by juniors Adam Harvey Adam Harvey 6'3" | SF Chatham Charter | 2023 State NC and Aamir Mapp Aamir Mapp 6'2" | SF Chatham Charter | 2023 State NC , who have done well to pace the scoring attack and backcourt. Freshman Brennen Oldham Brennen Oldham 6'6" | PF Chatham Central | 2025 State NC and Beau Harvey Beau Harvey 6'0" | CG Northwood | 2025 State NC are two other names to keep an eye on with their ability to affect the game as well. Needless to say, all eyes will want to be on this one in an early Saturday game at JH Rose High.
