Tuesday Night Match-Up breaks down the feature game of the evening plus runs you through some other key individual/team match-ups on Tuesday evening!

Game of the Night:

When it comes to high school basketball rivalries in Minnesota one of the best is Lakeville South vs Lakeville North. These are both one loss teams with South losing to Wayzata in a close game and North dropping a contest to East Ridge in the opener when [player_tooltip player_id="962214" first="Nolan" last="Winter"]’s foot was in a boot. Nolan is now healthy and the Panther line-up is at full strength coming off wins over Minneapolis South and Park of Cottage Grove.

Both teams will be in the South Suburban race and both teams are fighting for Section 1AAAA position along with Owatonna as they battle for that spot in state. So you have two talented, well coached teams who are big time neighborhood rivals that have played fun games the last several years.

Here are the projected line-ups:

PG: ([player_tooltip player_id="1267321" first="Tyler" last="Swanson"]) vs (Will Drake). Swanson is a playmaker with size while Drake has handled the ball from the Panthers and been steady this season. Solid lead guard battle between seniors.

CG: ([player_tooltip player_id="962221" first="Jackson" last="Ressler"]) vs ([player_tooltip player_id="1139350" first="Hudson" last="Vaith"]). Ressler can play both guard spots as a 6’3 guard while Vaith is a big win that shoots the ball at a high level. Different players, both have good size.

W1: ([player_tooltip player_id="1267323" first="Connor" last="Beauchamp"]) vs ([player_tooltip player_id="1226375" first="JT" last="Thornton"]). A pair of emerging, versatile talents. Both defend well, both are agile, Thornton is better going to the cup, Beauchamp will do more of his scoring with the jumper.

W2: ([player_tooltip player_id="850730" first="Sam" last="Fliehe"]) vs ([player_tooltip player_id="1284147" first="Jack" last="Robison"]). High quality match-up as Fliehe is an excellent defender while Robison has the edge in size. Sam shoots the ball well as does Robison who will also handle some for this team.

Forward: ([player_tooltip player_id="774771" first="Avery" last="Mast"]) vs ([player_tooltip player_id="962214" first="Nolan" last="Winter"]). Mast is stronger, Winter is taller at 6’10. Both players are off to outstanding and active scoring starts putting 20 plus points on the board each game using both skill and activity.

6th: (Marley Baah-Yeboah) vs (Brayden Manning). Baah-Yeboah is an explosive young player with a high ceiling while Manning is the senior worker that plays his role very well.

Other Tuesday Options

South St. Paul vs Park of Cottage Grove. An old conference rivalry from the 90s will be played again! The Packers are undefeated and ranked third in Class AAA while Park is without arguably their two best players and are still winning games!

Minneapolis Southwest vs Columbia Heights. Southwest has an excellent group of senior wings/forwards while the Hylanders are playing a high level of basketball as the second ranked team in Class AAA.

Tartan vs Hopkins. Mark Klingsporn vs Ken Novak Jr. The ultimate veteran coaching match-up. Hopkins is the top five team with prospects while Tartan is the veteran underdog team. Tartan has some size to throw at [player_tooltip player_id="850704" first="Elvis" last="Nnaji"].

Rosemount at Shakopee. Like this match-up as they have an equivalence in terms of size throughout their line-up. Love the match-up of [player_tooltip player_id="850717" first="Cade" last="McGraw"] and [player_tooltip player_id="796947" first="Caleb" last="Siwek"]. Can the Irish size deal with [player_tooltip player_id="1267322" first="Sam" last="West"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850728" first="Nick" last="Katona"]?

East Ridge at Eden Prairie. Both teams have top ten potential and a star leading the way ([player_tooltip player_id="850708" first="Kendall" last="Blue"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1220360" first="Chiddi" last="Obiazor"]) with skilled depth around it. Another top Class AAAA match-up.

Hibbing at Esko. I couldn’t find many outstate top match-ups tonight but this one caught my eye. [player_tooltip player_id="1339994" first="Cuinn" last="Berger"] leads the always solid Esko program while [player_tooltip player_id="850731" first="Ayden" last="McDonald"] is one of the state’s best players (from Hibbing).

DeLaSalle at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. I believe De and BSM play this game around the same time of the year and it’s kind of a tradition. There will be quality guard and wing play all over the place in this game.
