5AAA was won by the Monticello Magic for the third time in seven seasons. How about this year? Princeton has moved in so they take over the favorite role.

Final Thoughts

Princeton was 18-2 last season and although they didn’t win the section last year (a really good Hibbing team won) they won 7AAA the previous two years and have a ton of talent back this year. Becker has maybe their best team in a long time and the Magic continue to sneak up on people year after year, but Princeton is a heavy favorite. St. Francis may have been a contender but the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id="958757" first="Cody" last="Pennebaker"] and a start of the season injury to [player_tooltip player_id="962233" first="Matthew" last="Bothun"] has them limping into the year. Princeton is led by [player_tooltip player_id="962273" first="Cooper" last="Drews"] and [player_tooltip player_id="958662" first="Haydn" last="Stay"] and nobody else has an inside/out duo like that plus they have depth.
